Am I being too touchy?!

;( Today I posted a question in the "Ask Cathe" forum and received a wonderful reply from Cathe and another reply from a forum member. Sometimes I don't know if I am being too touchy but (dang)I feel like some people are so quick to jump on you for posting a question which may not seem relevant to a particular forum. Maybe it is just hormones...who knows? Today it just seemed mean I guess. I wanted to let everybody know that I posted the question for two reasons:

One...I wanted to know.

Two...I figured that someone else might have the same question.

Let me say, Cathe was quick with her responses which tells me that I must not be that dumb! Cathe also stated to the forum member that she was answering my question because another member might have the same question.

I only hope that people realize that some responses can be taken negatively and may discourage folks from asking questions for fear they may "post in the wrong forum". :(

In general, the forum members here are pretty laid back, polite and extremely helpful. I love to read the posts!:D

Sorry if this seems like a pity party but I had to type this to get it out of my system and vent a little.

Have a good day!:7

Melissa, I think Allyson was trying to be helpful. She was giving you a better avenue for your question to be answered. I did not take her reply as negative or harsh at all. She was just being direct. :)

Hi Melissa,

I hope you are feeling better. I agree with Fab40. I felt that Allyson was trying to be helpful. Often times customer service questions go unanswered on the forum. Your question was valid and not dumb. But neither Cathe or Allyson suggested this either. Sometimes the meaning and tone get lost in cyberspace. Goodluck on your purchase :) .

Hi Melissa!! Sorry your having such a bad day:(. I went over and read the forum. I really didn't see anything wrong but I would of not know where to post the question you were asking too:) So in a way I think she did the right thing by replying to your post. I really think she was just being helpful. Well anyway have a nice day:)

Thanks guys!

I had a feeling that I was just being over the top!

Whew! I actually do feel better and hope that I am never that sensitive again! It is very unlike me to be that way...must have just hit me in a soft spot. I appreciate your kind words and I agree that cyberspace sometimes hardens words.

Thanks to everyone including AllysonR!

;) Melissa

Melissa, I posted to you in the "Ask Cathe" forum. Just to reiterate, I'm glad you asked the question, and I hope you feel you can ask anything on here in the future! People ask the most outrageous things on here, and some of it - IMHO - belongs more on a daytime talk show than on a fitness forum. But ... they allow "anything" in this forum, so what can I say? It's not my site, after all.

I don't think anyone should make you feel you can't ask a question on the Ask Cathe forum. I'm sorry you were singled out, and you were singled out, because if you (or anyone else, for that matter!!) would go back there right now and start counting, there are PLENTY of "customer service" questions on there, in addition to yours!!

So ... try to take what was posted to you with a large grain of salt, and if you have a question, PLEASE ask!!

Carol
:) :) :)

Melissa,

I asked a question over there about an order that I messed up. I didn't feel like it was not appropriate. I knew that someone out there might have done the same thing, or they could post and tell me what I should do.

It is hard and also next to impossible to convey emotion through a computer. That makes it hard when we get a reply that sounds harsh. Remember, other people may be the ones having a bad day (for future reference). I still try and remember that when I feel trampled on.
