I just had to post this b/c I am SO excited, & I know many of you can relate (as opposed to the couch potatoes I deal with IRL
).
I've been dealing with foot cramping & pain since I was in my 20s. I have flat feet, & all the high impact over the years has caused pretty significant damage (as mentioned in the Asics thread, the triple whammy--tendonitis, PF & heel spurs).
It was bearable in my 20s, but during the last 5 years it had gotten pretty bad. And you know how this kind of thing goes--I just ignored it & worked through it, so eventually I just got used to aching, cramping, painful feet during cardio workouts. And I started avoiding the higher impact workouts b/c they just hurt too darned much. I haven't even tried the Hiits yet, I'm so afraid of them.
I started seeing a podiatrist about 1.5 years ago. His office is conveniently located in my gym.
I've been doing PT & I got orthodics, which have provided some relief but not much. So he wanted to give me cortisone shots. When I first started seeing him, his gym office wasn't zoned for medical procedures, but he told me the zoning approval would come through any day.
Well, it took 1.5 years for that zoning approval.
I was just about to find another podiatrist so I could get the shots done & over with, but he surprised me last week & told me I could get the cortisone shots Tues (3 days ago).
So I got the shots, & I just cannot believe what a difference they've made! No cramping. No pain. Took effect immediately. I've always considered pain free cardio a luxury. Now I can consider it a way of life!

Possibly even more important, I can wear high heels with the mere discomfort the average woman feels, instead of feeling like the Little Mermaid 10 hours a day.
