After Plateau buster--do I have to stay at this level o...

Hi everyone!

I'm doing Cathe's August Plateau buster rotation and (at last!) I feel like I am busting my plateau (along with my behind).

So let's say I do this level of activity for 4-6 weeks and get that last 10 pounds off, do I then need to stay at this activity level to keep it off or should I be able to maintain at an hour to an hour and 15 minutes of exercise a day?

I know everyone is different but just wondered what the educated crowd thought. Any thoughts?

You're right - everyone's different, so you have to play around with it. You may want to do one week per month of the August rotation (or something of that nature) as a regular fixture in your routine.
Just Do It! :)

That sounds like great advice to me. You should be able to shock your body and with the one extra intense week per month. Good Luck!! And congratulations on the August rotation. Great job.

Everyone is different, but I think Cathe stated in a thread regarding the August rotation that she wouldn't expect someone to stay at this level due to overtraining and possible injury reasons.

Also, in the Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle Book, Tom Venuto says that no one should have to train more than 1 hour for lifting and one hour for cardio a session (he suggests doing these on different days)...he says even people who are competition level reduce workout time after competition to avoid injury. Also, you don't want your body to adapt and plateau again.

This is just a guess, but I wonder if Cathe will throw a strength building rotation at us for September. Since this was high on cardio and endurance, it would make sense to emphasize strength next.
