AFAA Workshop - Enough time to prepare?

I've been considering either certification through ACE or AFAA to become a personal trainer. I just found out that AFAA will be doing a workshop just 15 miles from my home next month (7 weeks from yesterday). If I order the book now, will that be enough time to prepare? It would definitely put me on the fast track vs. online home study. I'd love to hear your thoughts, suggestions, etc.

TIA,

I have been an AFAA personal trainer for three years. I was familiar with the gym and specific exercises to work particular muscle groups. However, the weekend workshop is just an overview of everything that will likely be on the test. Some people go to the workshop thinking that they will learn the material at that time. However, it is used for review. I studied really hard for at least three months before the test since my sister is also certified by AFAA. When she told me what the practical (applied) test involved, I realized that the written test is one thing (the multiple choice answers are on the page). However, the practical was much more difficult since you don't know what questions will be asked, you have to "work" with a "client" (another student) and answer a bunch of other questions verbally. I don't think AFAA gets the attention it deserves as far as credibility is concerned. When working with clients, book-smarts is one thing. However, knowing how to communicate the information puts things on a whole other level. I hope this helps!
