I have been looking for some advanced stability ball dvds. I have looked on collage, but a lot of them are for beginners, ect.I would love to hear your reviews.

Thanks for your help.

I have Mindy Mylrea's Awesome Strength. It has some good stability ball work in it. It also uses the bosu but has someone using the stability ball to demonstrate an alternatitive. It is pretty intense. She also uses the medicine ball in different weights in this.

Thank you Dianne Sue. I will check that one out for sure. Do you use a bosu? also. I hope you have a nice weekend. What a great picture of you. You look like you are in great shape.

I agree, most of the stability workouts are geared towards beginners. I have Mindy's Strength Express which uses the med ball. I really like it a lot. I was going to get Awesome Strength awhile back, but noticed that they used a Bosu. I am glad that you mentioned that they demonstrate using the stability ball too. I will probably buy it now.

Aila :)

How about Core Foundations (TLP)? Also, there is a very good bonus stability ball workout in Kathy Smith's Lift Weight to Lose Weight 2. It's around 20 minutes. Fitball Upper Body Challenge and Fitball Lower Body Challenge are both 45 minutes long. There's a great deal of focus on the core in both of them.

No I do not have a bosu. I have been tempted to buy one but am not sure if I would use it much. She also demonstrates using a step for moves that she uses the bosu for standing work. It is intense. I use the step for one of the exercises that she does lying on the bosu which is not demonstrated. I saw it on an old Keli Roberts workout that she called the "dead bug". Where you are lying down and lower one leg and then the other off of the bench. It has three different people doing different versions of the exercises with different equipment.

I'll tell you one thing- dead bug on a bosu is HARD! She has another DVD called Explode, that has a good ab section on it. You lie on the bosu for the dead bug and then you use a body bar and row side to side swiveling your knees and hips to the opposite side. That is hard, too! I often increase intensity by doing my ab routines balanced on top of the Bosu. Sometimes, I just can't finish and have to move back to the floor. I like the Bosu as a sub for the high step, too. It changes the challenge.

Advanced Stability Ball workouts: I've tried lots of them b/c I love stability ball. The hardest one I've found is Adam Ford's Swissball Abs. The Method Ball workout w/ Katalin Zamiar Rodriguez is decent, but too slow-moving, I thought. Quick Fix stability ball was not advanced, but good for an intermediate.

Hey, I know a good Advanced Stability Ball workout- Core Max! :)
PUB and PLB ball sections strung together would be good, too.

I have the Method stability ball workout. It is so so for me. A lot easy. I find myself adding to it to increase the intensity. I am sure it has it place in workouts. I was personally disappointed in this workout. But I think maybe my expectations were to high. Since I am more into cardio variety and weight workouts.

Hi Amy

you are so right about plb and pub. I think I better order core max.
I do have quick fix stability ball workout and I do like that. I will just have to do the plb and pub together,It is one of my favorites dvd's I have of cathes.I love the stability ball too what a great workout we can get on one. I too love cardio and weights but stability ball is great also.I have read so many great articles in health magazines with articles on the ball lately. I have heard the Bosu is a very intense workout and very hard to balance on.Have a great day. Thanks for the recommendation.

I agree, Diane Sue. I think it is more of a yoga ball workout, than an athletic ball workout. If you love to do yoga, you would probably like The Method. However, even at that, I'm not sure it would offer the challenge you are looking for.
HOWEVER, Swiss Ball Abs by Adam Ford is very challenging. You know those preacher roll outs from Supersets? Adam Ford does them straight-legged with only the toes on the floor. Also, he shows an exercise where you get up against the wall and lie sideways over your ball and do a twisting crunch, holding a weight. Another exercise you would see in that video is alternating one-legged planks. He offers lots of good form pointers the whole way through. Its not the same type of production that Cathe offers- less peppy, but definitely some solid tough core work.
