Abreva....

I've got that buzzy feeling on my upper lip where I get a cold sore once in a blue moon. I wondered if any one uses abreva and how it has worked for you. The pharmacist recommended it and I'm really hoping the cold sore won't open upx( TIA!

Hi, to my favorite massage therapist! I tried most all of the topical cremes for cold sore before Abreva came out and they didn't work for me, so I cannot comment on Abreva. I use a prescription called Famvir (2 little pills for 3 days) and it zaps the cold sore right away....and I got them bad....:)

I use Abreva all the time. If you catch it as soon as you feel the tingle it will never appear. If you catch it later it will get a sore, but it will be smaller. The sore will only last a couple of days also. I recommend it.

About 15 years ago, I started getting cold sores...so often that I finally got a prescription of Valtrex from my doctor. However, I keep Abreva around, just in case I don't get my prescription soon enough. I've found that it is pretty effective. If you don't get cold sores that often, I think you'll do well using it.

Laurie...I am doing fine. Not lots of miles by any means but my massage therapist is on to my piriformis pain...OUCH!!! The foam roller is also helping...John has been able to flex the muscles in his quads, which does not necessarily mean he will eventually walk but it is something in rehab they will work on. Thank you for asking...and thanks for the squeeze...
