? about Cardio and STS

Thanks Cathe for giving us specific cardio suggestions both with the DVD's and optional workouts.
My question is: Is there specific length of time we should work out for cardio as well as percentage of Heart rate max. For example, should we do a one hour interval workout and then one hour steady state workout and then then additional 3rd cardio of some sort.
If we opt for the "optional Workouts", are there specific places in the rotation it is better to place them?
I know you state that these options are for alternatives for people for various reasons, but I am trying to stay true to rotation as much as possible, with choosing my own variety. I also know there will be some weeks that I won't be able to get that 3rd cardio workout in and if so, what should be cut first and what is the most important cardio that should be included.
