abdominals

I am 4 and a half months pregnant, and have not done one sit-up in that amount of time. I used to pride myself on my six-pack, but now it has turned promptly into a keg!!! Can someone describe the kind of ab exercises I can do so that when all is said and done, I'll be able to find my muscles again? I'd appreciate any advice. However, it is rather exciting to watch my belly grow knowing that there is a little life in there. It is so amazing.

Yes, it is amazing that your belly is growing because there is a little life inside......The miracle of it all never ceases to amaze me.

We have lots of suggestions and tips on our forum regarding abdominal training during pregnancy. Ab training is very important during this time for many reasons. Two of the most important ones are that strong abs suppport your spine(i.e. they take the weight of the baby off the back), therefore minimizing or eliminating that dreaded "pregnancy back pain," and also facilitate pushing during second stage labor.

To access these abdominal training tips and suggestions -----

At the top of the forum page you will see:

"Sort Topics by..... Topic ID | Discussion Topic | Author | Last Updated Date/Time"

Click on "Discussion Topic" and it will pull up an alphabetical listing of the posts. Just scroll down the A's and you will come to quite a few posts regarding abdominal training.
