Abbreviations used for videos and others.......

BAM

Cathlete
I know everyone uses abbreviations when talking about Cathe's videos and I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion on an easy way to figure out which ones they are? Does Cathe have an alphabetical list of all her workouts which I could printout and refer to when needed?

Also, I know there are personal abbreviations used. The only one that's jumping out at me now is DH. I'm figuring the H is husband but what's the D for? If there are other common ones used, I'd appreciate it if someone could fill me in on them. Don't want to be left out of the loop.:p

Thanks.
Bam

The D in DH can stand for many, many things. Dear, darling, dorky and possibly other words that start with the letter D that we won't get into here;)

DD is darling, dear, etc. daughter, DS is son, SIL/MIL/BIL/FIL are the in-laws.

SO is significant other.

IMO is in my opinion - IMHO is in my humble opinion. BTW is by the way.

LOL is laugh out loud.

As I think of more, I'll let you know.

As for the workout abbreviations, I'm sure a list has been done already. I'll see if I can find it:)

Just wanted to say I was right where you are not too long ago since I'm pretty new to Cathe and this forum. I had NO CLUE what all the abbreviations stood for...but I have to say that I know them all now (it's only been a couple of weeks) :D !! I never found anything that listed the acronyms or a listing of her workouts. Except in the video questions and comments forum if you go to the thread that ranks all of her videos intensity levels (I think it's the second post) it gives a list of what seems to be the most popular ones so it could be a quick reference guide.

Just wanted to let you know you'll catch onto them pretty quickly. It may have helped though that I went on a buying spree and pretty much got them all so I kind of learned the names of them that way :) . Oh and DH stands for either "darling husband" or "dear husband".

Thanks Deni. :) I don't have a lot of Cathe workouts. I mostly have muscle building ones and not many step ones so I'm only familiar with a few of them. I will definitely check out what you suggested. It's been a bit frustrating to "want" to know which tape everyone's referring to but finding it time consuming to do so and then not always succeeding. x( I'm sure I'll get there. Congrats to you for knowing them in such a short period of time!:7 Maybe I should have you give me a lesson. :p

I copied this from an old thread. I hope that's ok.

Also the D in DH can mean darn or dang etc if he has been bad.

Oh Jean, thank you soooooooooooo much! This is going to help me TREMENDOUSLY!!!!! :* Now I can be in the "know" like the rest of you, lol. Guess what's going to be laminated and taped to my computer? :7

I don't have an "H" but I've had BF's that I could find a description for beginning with a "D". Ooh, I know one that would fit in with the theme of these boards....Dumbbell! But I'm sure not too many of us would have cause to use that one......right??? :p

The one I still don't get is when someone puts: "HTH" at the end of a post.. what does that stand for?

"Hope This Helps"...:)...Carole

Another one that really threw me off at first: TIA (thanks in advance). I used to think it was someone's name! Like Tia Carrera!

I'm a newbie and was very glad to see this.

Was wanting to figure out some of the DVD's to get and was also checking out the rotation schedules.

Too many of the acronyms had me boggled.

Hope this will bump it up a bit farther for anyone else ! ! !

THANKS FOR THE HELP !

If anyone is interested, I'm almost finished with taking that wonderful list that Jean provided by color coding it and alphabetizing by abbreviations (which say the DVD title afterwards). If I knew how do handle Word more proficiently, it may not have taken me as long to do but what the heck, I've got time on my hands. x( :7

If you're interested, you can leave me your email and I'll send it to when it's done. Probably within the hour.

Bam

***Edited: Or maybe I can post it here like Jean did!

Well this was supposed to be in color and I don't know if it will post that way. I color coded which category each of the DVD's fall into so if you'd like the color version and it doesn't show up that way here, let me know and I'll send it to you. Word decided it would not alphabetize groups that are in different colors so I did it manually and hopefully I kept everything in order. There may be some duplicates but because of the color coding, they may fall into more than one category. I didn't edit anything from what Jean posted so it should be exactly the same. (Unless these fingers went into "having a mind of their own mode" and did something without my consent of which I am stating this disclaimer: I am not held liable for unvoluntary actions by me of any of aforesaids attached 10 digits) :p Hope it helps! Bam
