How many times a week should I work my abs? Right now, I do abs about 2 - 3 times a week, plus keeping them engaged when working out with weights. Is this enough? Thanks.:)
 
My abs aren't too bad now, but I'd like to tone them up a little bit more I know some of that goes with losing a few pounds, to see the abs better. But, I'd really like them to be a little toner and stronger. Maybe a little extra cardio will help?? Do the ab muscles need a recovery time like other muscles? I hope these don't sound silly!

I wouldn't do more than 3 nonconsecutive days a week. Your abs are just like any other muscle and is capable of being overworked and injured (not a stupid question, it was once believed that you could do abs everyday!) If you have a layer of fat over your abs the only way for toning to show, as with any body part, is to do cardio to burn fat. Do you have Ab Hits or Core Max? Those have some really awesome ab work.

Thanks so much...I do have ab hits and core max. I'm gonna be more consistant with 3 days of abs, and add a little more cardio. THanks for answering my question on resting the abs like other muscles. Now, the challenge is thru the holiday season.....

Top
