ab work question...

well I knew your only supposed to do ab work on your back up till the beginning of the second trimester but I was wondering if ab work even helped much since it seems you'd loose all muscle tone there later? I was also wondering if it was worth continuing ab work that is not on the back? I found this website which was interesting. http://www.progressiveparent.com/Pregnancy_postnatal_exercise/pregnancy-exercise-abs.htm
they also sell dvds on that site but I haven't seen them or tried them. I thought about getting vol 1 for my 3rd trimester. So I guess I'll go with my plan and workout my abs like crazy up till the cut off point then do these modifications after that.

Is it ok to do abs daily or should I do it every otherday? I just got coremax so am going to do those segments. :)

I have PPW Vol 1. I didn't even know there was a Vol2! Honestly, I haven't done it in a while, but I remember it being a decent workout. Seems like it left out a body part or did one too much???? It's been a while - sorry!

To my knowledge it's not safe to work your abs everyday - every other day should be plenty.

I got a little overzealous doing abs in my 2nd tri and around 20 weeks really pulled my ab muscles to the point where it hurt to even stand up. My midwife thought I had diastasis but I don't feel it and it seems to be all healed now. I completely quit ab work at that point, scared I would do further damage.

Tracey Staehle has a great Ab workout - CoreBlast - where there is a lot of standing core work. I can't wait to get back into it!

Good luck!!!!!

so would you recommend the workout? I figure I'd appreciate seeing modifications for things and I hear its actually a good workout.
I read somewhere online that abs can be worked daily but I don't want to overdue it I guess. I thought it would prevent diastasis recti.
I'll check out Traci's w/o. thanks :)
