Ab work making me sick

I'm starting my 12th week but even when I was only little as 6 weeks, crunches made me throw up. I should probably know this as I'm a fitness instructor but has anyone else had this? Today I had to cut the cool down down to 2 1/2 minutes in my class so I could make it to the restroom. I plan to "spot" my members more. Any ideas?

When I told my doctor with my 3rd pregnancy (I have 5 kids -all 10 and above now)that I was having trouble with situps he had a fit! (and made me stop them all together) So, you might want to talk to your doctor. All I can say is that each pregnancy is different, with nausea a typical response in early weeks (for me even up to 15 weeks with some of them). Your abs will come back after you have your baby - and will get a lot more 'out there' before then ;-)...take care.

I haven't had this experience, but I would think that you could get away with modeling the movement and then walking around the room spotting. Chances are you'll feel better in a few weeks anyway.

My boss teaches a bunch of classes, and at 33 weeks pregnant, she can still do ab work on an incline (she lifts one side of a step). I imagine that she's more the exception than the rule at this late date...

Make sure you are drinking a lot of water to make up for the exercise and barfing :)
Hope you feel better SOON!
