A day off without a workout!

Well, I spent the better part of the day w/a plumber & carpenter yesterday (a leak in the kitchen ceiling from the tub--now I have two ugly holes in my kitchen ceiling & threw lots of water down the drain--pun intended! }( ). Plumber got there at 8:30 am. Never had a chance to work out.

I was thinking about it & I cannot remember the last day off I had without exercise! It felt really strange. Everyone was gone by about 3:00 & I kept having this odd feeling that I was missing something but couldn't quite put my finger on what. I realized before I went to bed my day just felt incomplete without at least an hour of exercise.

I don't feel this way on days I work, but if I'm off I feel obligated to get at least an hour in. And either my body, my subconscious, or both were not happy with the rest of me. :p

Well, I'm glad you survived it! I'm living proof that it can be done... though whether I'll retain my sanity remains to be seen....

Laura, I'm the same way. On workdays, I'm so busy that if I don't get a workout in, I can usually grin and bear it. But on days off, I feel so guilty if I don't get a workout (if not an extra long workout) in because I have the time.

What's cool, though is that you mentioned how you couldn't even pinpoint what made you feel "off" yesterday until bedtime. That's great--it means you needed that break. Usually I spend the whole day obsessing over when I'll workout and feeling guilty for every minute that goes by that I'm not sweating my butt off.

I completely understand. I find it to be, honestly, quite challenging to have a day off, whether or not I am busy...glad you survived it!! I am a bit more tantrumous about it. haha!
