heading up north (north to me and REALLY north to most of the rest of you) for a week of R&R to visit my husband at the fishing lodge he is guiding at. The website is www.wollastonlakelodge.com if anyone is interested in checking out some beautiful scenery, etc.
I have pretty much figured out that my problem is a tendinitis in my hamstring which seems to stem from the ishial (sit) bone (sp?) and not sciatica or any other of the many syndromes I have been reading about on the internet and freaking out about.
So, I am going to do some relaxing, some swimming and some stretching and just taking it easy for a bit. I am posting about this so that on Sunday, when the rest of you all check in, you will know that I am not in a deep pit of despair because of this injury, (although I have had my days recently) but am not near a computer and am busy trying to heal.
You will all be impressed to know that last night (being Thursday and my 37th BD), I attempted to play ball but upon feeling some discomfort, I pulled myself and kept score. Hard to do but I am determined to heal completely and not go back to square one with all of this.
This last week bascially consisted of upper body strength training and a couple of low impact step workouts. I went for one bike ride but that really seemd to aggravate things instead of help, whereas the low impact step seems to help. I think becaue the tendinitis originates at the sit bone that an upright bike is not a good option and I do not have a recumbent bike any where near me. So, biking is out for now.
So everybody, I hope you have a great week and enjoy your 4th of July. Our holiday in Canada is actually July 1, being Canada Day.
