Happy weekend mommies and mommies to be!

This AM we have our last hypnobirthing class. Immediately after that we're off to my mom's for my sister's HS open house. We'll be there til 5 or 6 helping. Then it's home to get ready for lots of company for Fathers Day tomorrow.

Lisa, yay to new clothes! And showing more! Gap and OldNavy both have a ton on sale right now. Happy shopping! Hope you have a great weekend!

Good Morning! I love Saturday, no work!!! We have a pizza party planned for tonight at the pool, but nothing all day. DH is on call, so that leaves me with the kids. We don't have much planned except baking Melanie's muffin recipe.
Kate-How have you like hypnobirthing? Have fun at the open house.
Lisa-Old Navy had some great deals online, and so did Ann Taylor Loft. Have fun shopping.

Mikkia, I love hypnobirthing. It is amazing practicing it how calm and serene you get. It def. takes dedication but after talking to other hypnomoms and seeing the videos I can't NOT do it. Sounds like fun tonight - do you have a cute maternity suit? I bought a couple maternity tankinis - wish I were brave enough to wear a bikini!

I think that is wonderful about hypnobirthing. I can't wait to hear about your delivery. It is nice in one way having a csection, because its scheduled, no painful delivery, BUT I sure would have liked to experience childbirth, even though the experience could be a difficult one. My cousin who is delivering her 3rd on Halloween(thats when she is due)had her other 2 au naturale and wants to deliver at home with a doula. I would be too chicken for that but she is so excited. Oh well. I guess you get what you get.
I do have a tankini I think I will wear. I usually wear a bikini, but my top half has grown out of it already! Old Navy had some great deals on swim suit seperates for like $15 so I bought a couple and they are really pretty decent quality, lined and all. Have a good one.

Mikkia, So you've got "big things" too?!
I would love a home birth too but am a little weary of it, plus I don't want the mess in my house! LOL! I'll be at a birth center, next best thing to being home. The average stay after is 6 hours so we'll be home pretty quick anyway. 2 midwives will be there. Okay, we're almost there - better go!

Hi Kate & Mikkia (and slow-to-wake-mommys). I posted early but lost the post again. Urgh. That's been happening alot lately.

I feel much better today. :) I think I'm going to go for a quick run before I take my kids swimming. We have a great toddler pool at the local school & the kids love it. :)

Have a great day ladies. Get your rest so you can enjoy the daddy's in your lives. ;)

Kate - You will have to let me know how hypnobirthing worked for you - that is assuming you will deliver before me. Are you a early, on-time, or late deliverer? I tend to be a little early before my due date.

Mikkia - I totally need a new bathing suit, but cringe at the thought of just having to see myself in it. My bbs are not so perky and my belly is huge now. I finally caved and bought a new bra this week.

Melanie - Have fun with your run and swimming. I'm about to head out to do my workout also.

DD starts up ballet again today so I will be doing that then I have to hand in their paperwork for football and cheerleading. I'm hoping to squeeze in some shopping between that for some maternity tops. I'll probably hit Old Navy since it's the closest to me. We're also doing Father's Day dinner tonight as well.

I actually worked out, LIC, not a hard one, but the first workout in 9 days. Just thought I'd share in case it doesn't happen again.
Lisa-I hate the amount of different bra sizes one goes through in this process. How can a 34 b become a 36 D? It makes no sense.
Melanie-I am so glad you are feeling better.
Kate-I think that birthing center will be so awesome. I can't wait for details.:)

Mikkia, why haven't you worked out last 9 days, nausea? I feel so much better when I push myself to w/o,...I find it helps with nausea too.

Today I had aspirations of running, but ended up walking the whole 4 miles. I was just so darn tired (and sore too). My legs and butt were sore. Not sure what from. Maybe step kickboxing w/o which didn't seem that tough to make me sore. Oh well.

I was lurking;-) and had a question-
What is the difference between a doula and a midwife?
I just had a baby boy almost a month ago and we had 2 midwives come to our home-i loved it! Does a doula do the same thing a midwife would?

If I understand correctly, a midwife can actually deliver you baby,....and doula aids in the comfort of your delivery (she's your right hand lady) and cannot actually "deliver" your baby.
Congrat on your new baby boy!

Thanks for clearing that for me Melanie!
We are having fun with the baby-it is my 3rd-i had the other 2 close to when you had yours.one was born 2/14/04 and the 2nd was 9/19/05!
I love having 3 kids now-so rewarding!

Okay catching up.. from today...

KAte~hope you have a great day w/ your family!!

Mikkia~oh a pizza pool party sounds great! Pizza actually sounds really good right about now. Great job on getting a workout in!!

Melanie~glad you woke feeling good! Enjoy your swimming! I planned to just walk today too 4 miles. I got 2 miles in and it started thundering so I figured I better run.. LOL It was quite the motivater too. I just finished when it started sprinkling. Then it stormed like crazy. Sometimes just walking is a great "rest" for the next run.

Lisa~ya know I just decided I was not buying a maternity suit so I have been swimming my my bikini from last year w/ my belly out and all! So far it works. I had a maternity suit w/ Madison and it was awful. Just made me feel bigger.

Now from yesterday

Susan~the first m/c i had I had a D&C and the bleeding was minimal, but the one after that I did bleed heavy. I never have heavy periods so it was much heavier than that for me. ((hugs)) I have heard the stats for any woman to m/c is 30% which seems high to me, but I know it does increase w/ age. It doesn't seem fair. : (

Melanie~ 22 miles?? LOL I have a garmin and I LOVE it!! I have put over 1500 miles on it and now I need a battery I think. I use it almost daily so it's well worth the investment. Sorry to hear about the potential buyers. ugh

Kristan~good news on your kitty retruning!

Stephanie~enjoy your weekend w/ your family!

MAggie~beef barley soup?? Do you have a recipe to share? I bet dh would love that! Sounds like you are nesting!

Mikkia~I love the baby story and brining home baby. They are on in the morning and afternoon. I could watch those shows all day long.

Kate~since I have to have a c/s my kids won't attend, but if I were having a vaginal I def. would want them there. Maybe not Landon since he's 2, but def. MAdison and Hunter. When I had Hunter my DHs mom was in the OR with us. She is a nurse and I was so scared. I was really sick though so they let her some too. Then when I had Landon I asked the anestesiologist if my DHs dad could go in with us and they let him. He was so excited!! HE cried and took pics. It really was amazing to be able to share that with them.

Well everyone is making those muffins!! I so need to get the stuff to make them. They sound really good. I have been busy yesterday and today I just haven't felt up to par. I decided to walk instead of run, but then it was thundering so I ran the last 2 miles. I got a shower then a nap. Maybe all the stress is catching up to me. I think we'll skip the evening walk at the trail. It looks like the storm has passed and it really cooled down, but I am just wiped out. Maybe just get our pjs on and watch TV.

Melanie, Hope the pool was fun!

Lisa, I was 10 and 11 days early previously. Hoping for a little of the same this time! Busy day for you - hope its a good one!

Mikkia, Glad you got a workout! I hardly did at all at your stage either. The intensity still isn't there but I doubt that's going to happen for oh, about 4 months!

Lorren, TOO COOL re your home birth! Congrats on your baby!
Glad to hear #3 is meshing well! Did you have your first 2 at home too?

Trish, pj night sounds great! You've been busy! That's so nice of you to share your births with family. Sounds like you all are very close.

I'm so glad to be home. Need to do some prepping for dads day tomorrow then I'm gonna sack out!
