8yo DS got a cast - any tips for bathing?

My little warrior fractured his wrist playing footie and has an arm cast for a couple weeks. Any tips for keeping the cast dry while he bathes/showers?

Take a large enough plastic bag and put it over the cast and seal it with a rubber band. (Not too tightly, obviously) This should work ok, it's not perfect, so he's not going to be able to submerge his arm under water, but he can at least have it splashed and not worry.

Or else you can fashion your own with a plastic garbage bag and a roll of tape.

I got my son a cover esp. made to protect casts it fit over his arm at the local medical supply store and kept it dry for the entire 3 months his cast was on .
I had a cast on my arm for a month and a half and used the plastic bag with tape for myself and that was a real pain in the patoot plus my cast did get wet a few times.
I would recommend getting the cast covers those work really well
