61 yr old needs help in selecting Cathe videos

Have used the Firm and Karen Voight. I've also used Kathy Smith but can't seem to latch on to anything favorite. Although I have enormous respect for Voight, the music on some of her tapes is awful and demotivating. Used to jump rope religiously but have slacked off. I have become lazy and need some motivating tapes to begin anew! Although not overweight, I'm hating the squishiness that is creeping in from once-toned muscle. I'm aware of some vague right knee problem but it's not debilitating yet. I'd love to find some tapes that are brillant with music and instruction and are no more than one hour. Any suggestions would be immensely appreciated. I'd consider myself low intermediate.

Just to let you know that you can click on previews of any Cathe tape/DVD and get a good 7-10 minute preview which will give you a great sense of the music and level of exercise. Her newest DVD's might be the best if you are a low intermediate (previews not yet availble, but soon I expect). When Cathe says "beginner" I'm thinking it will be more intermediate. As for her old stuff, the Wedding Video, corny as it sounds, is an excellent step tape and total body weights tape all in one. The first workout is about 50 minutes and the second one is 58 minutes. You alternate days on doing them. I like her oldies music too.

Beth,

Thanks! I really appreciate the suggestions. I was aware of the previews, but got overwhelmed one day after work scanning through them.

Katie,

I'm 49 and let me tell you, working with weights has really helped my squishiness not be as squishy. I would recommend either Maximum Intensity Strength (MIS), Power Hour (PH) or Muscle Endurance (ME) if you are looking specifically for VHS.

I would highly recommend Cathe's DVD's because of their versatility. There are premixes on her DVD's where you can really break down the workouts exactly the way you want. If that appeals to you, I would recommend the MIS, Power Hour and Body Max DVD.

Candi,
Thanks a lot for the recommendations!

I keep thinking about the DVDs but because I watch TV very little, I think buying the whole shebang would be pretty costly. But for the first time I'm thinking more seriously about it. Cheers!
