6 Monthers, STS Monday

Good morning.

I'm coming here to come clean and wipe the slate clean. I flopped, ladies, this weekend, with my food! I'm so sorry! I just found excuse after excuse to eat whatever was around, instead of the yummy clean food in my fridge/house. What I have to realize is that there will ALWAYS be this event or that event that may keep me from eating 'right'. But it's up to me to choose 'right' or 'wrong'.

SO.......that's my confession.

I'm sorry I was MIA yesterday. We ended up sleeping late, then rushed to basketball, hit the grocery store, then the minor league baseball game last night.

But I'm here TODAY and that's what counts, right? Workout is done....did iTread 19 Sprints (30 minutes, logged 3.5 miles) and the Stability Ball abs from B&G. I think I'm going to DO B&G this afternoon or tonight....I'm just kinda in the mood for it, ya know?

Do you all forgive me for flopping mid-challenge this weekend? PLEASE!

BBL

Gayle

Of course we do! As I posted earlier I completely forgot about our challenge! I just completed disc 28 for the 1st time. I am going to borrow some 20 pound dumbells, it is time for me to increase for bench presses.

My stbx has a bowflex motivator. I would love to hear thoughts on using that for squats?

Hello to everyone that follows.

Good morning everyone,

Gayle we forgive you completely. We all flop at one time or another. This weekend I did horrible. I totally caved on all my cravings so I can relate. But it's Monday & time to get back on the wagon. My goal is to get through today with no junk food. We can do it together.

Today I did disk 34. All my weights were pretty much spot on for 8 reps. I went to complete failure on incline bench press & only got 6 reps for the last 2 sets. I even tried to rest a bit; take a deep breath & press up but nothing doing; my arms, chest, all gave out. On incline flies my arms were shaking but I got through it.
Well back to work for me. I'll be checking in throughout the day. BBL

Hi Guys,

I did HST today, and yes, Jo, it does have leg presses on each round and double on the fourth....LOL! I got worked good!

Well, Gayle, I was going to only eat my own slice of cake yesterday, but dd wasn't into her slice and I 'helped' her finish it.... Sooo, move on and today is back to normal plans! It's when those bad days keep happening that it matters, just one day and then back on the wagon it ok in my book....

Jo, thanks for the salad recipe, your version sounds wonderful!
I will post the acorn squash soup later today.

Measuredoak, working so hard, that is awesome!
Julie, Hope you get to get those twenties! Doesn't it feel great when you get to increase the weights?

Hi everybody that follows!

Hi Everyone!

Sorry I have limited time to post today and tomorrow....it's our quarterly review time. I was at work at 6 a.m. for east coast meetings and will be here at that time again tomorrow.

If I get to workout today it will be LIS or something like that and then tomorrow night will be disc 18.

I'll try to check back if I can. Everyone have a great day!

I forgot to mention....I can barely walk and carry my laptop and my handbag and my lunch. I had to take the elevator...Disc 17 killed me! :p

Hello Ladies.

Sorry I haven't been checking in too much lately. I just have so much going on. Right now I am taking a break from my school project that is due on Wed. Then I am done with school until end of Aug.

Of course we forgive you, Gayle. Hey I am probably the biggest culprit in getting off the clean eating track. Like I promised I had a drink on Saturday (maybe even 2 :p) for each of you. And probably enough food for all of you too:eek:.

I ran sprints today at the gym for about 35 minutes, then I got on the elliptical for about 15 minutes. I was done at that point. I think my body is still recovering from the weekend.

I think julie you asked. An STS/insanity rotation is just something I was going to make up. I haven't even opened the package yet....I haven't had a chance.

I have to get back to work. Hopefully I can start doing personals again by Wed night.

Have a great day everyone.

Hi again,

I'm really grumpy today. I did ok when I got up and worked out, but then ds came downstairs, the first thing on his lips another tattle on his sister and then a whole lot of complaining and arguing.... It was enough to put me on the grumpy wagon myself. It takes me forever to snap out of it! Any tips you have that work for you when you feel like growling at your family?

Anyway, here comes my downtime for the day and I promised I'd post this recipe, so here goes:

Roasted Apple and Acorn squash soup

2 apples, unpeeled, cored, and cut in half
1 carrot, sliced
1 medium acorn squash, cut in half and seeded
2 Tbsp olive oil
2 medium onions, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
4 cups low sodium chicken broth
salt and pepper to taste
pinch cayenne pepper
1 Tbsp Dijon Mustard
2 Tbsp fresh ginger, finely grated
parsley

1. Preheat oven to 400°F
2. Place apples, carrot and squash upside down in a shallow pan with 1/4 inch of water. Bake for 35 min. Remove apples and carrots.
3. Flip squash over. Drizzle with 1 Tbsp olive oil and a sprinkle of salt. Broil for 10 min. Remove from heat and set aside.
4. In saucepan, heat remaining olive oil. Add onions and sautée for 5 min. Add garlic and sautée 1 more minute.
5. Peel and cube squash. Add chicken stock, apple, carrot and squash. Bring to a boil. Add pepper, ginger and mtard. Simmer for 5 min.
6. Remove from heat. Puree in blender or use a handheld immersion blender right in the pot to desired consistency.
7. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve topped with freshly chopped parsley.

I hope you like it!

Okay...long day, late night and I have to be up again before you know it!

I think the reason my butt hurts so much is from the 45 degree angle lunges. I think I went lower than ever???? I really hurt on the outside of my butt and up high! I LOVE IT but oh my gosh! Oh, and the paper plate moves! I love those! I think those are what really got me too!

Good night all!

Cendrine, thanks for posting that recipe! It looks delicious!!!!
