6 Monthers - STS Alumni Friday

Runcrazy

Cathlete
Hello! Well I am finally headache free again but of course it messed up my workouts this week.

So tonight...for real...I'm going to get my rotation figured out!

It's beautiful and sunny here today but TGIF! I'm going to try again and work on my closet this weekend. Actually I need to do drawers and closests or maybe I should wait until it starts raining. The weather will be changing before we know it so yeah, I should probably wait! LOL!

Hope everyone is having a good day!

I went back and read the posts I missed...

Kim, hope you have a fantastic weekend! Sounds like so much fun! I know you're already gone but have FUN FUN FUN!!!

Cendrine, so whatcha think of S&H? Do you think that's doable to replace Meso 3 in a rotation? I used to do that all the time and loved it! And, I see you did Rhythmic Step! Another favorite of mine! When I want good steady state cardio I usually reach for that, Power Max or Step Works. It's just plain old good fun!

Rachel, hope you figured out a routine. When I'm traveling I just try to tailor my workouts based on the equipment the hotel has and what I think I should be doing for whatever rotation I may be involved in. If I'm not doing a rotation, then I try to do some kind of circuit workout where I get on the TM for 20 minutes, do some weights, maybe get on the eliptical if they have one for 20, etc.

BBL!

Another post from me....WELL I just went and read the blog! My STS Tower shipped and will arrive on Tuesday! Yippee! So that probably means I need to do a Meso 2 rotation! :p But I'll let you know!

Hi Jo and anyone else,

I'm glad you recovered from your migraine, and how fun that your tower is coming! Of course you will have to try it out! Meso 2 for you then, huh?

I like the Slow and Heavy workouts and I think they will work very nicely as a meso 3 substitute for me, thanks for the suggestion!

I did Interval Max today. I have to admit I did not feel like doing it on two risers so I did it on one and got through the workout feeling great. Maybe next time I will do it on two. One of the intervals, the one that starts with jumping jacks and then goes into airborne jacks and tuck jumps, well, let's just say I went back to the modified version after about four rounds of halfhearted air jacks and tuck jumps.... This one reminds me of imax 2 and 3 and now I have to do imax just to see how it compares.

I like steady state cardio, so next week I will try Power max and step works per your suggestion.

I have to go and clean the bathrooms, my brother is coming this weekend for a visit from Switzerland and I have to get the house ready for him. The kids are really excited that they get to show him Disneyland while he's here... I also have to go shopping, he is a food lover if I've ever seen one. I always make him a cake or something when he comes to celebrate his birthday since we can't celebrate it when he has it. This time I am making him a lowfat blueberry crumble cheesecake.... Yum! I plan on making it with stevia and with greek yoghurt, that way the crumble part of it won't be as bad as if I used full fat cream cheese and regular sugar....

Hey guys
I have to get my personals in first or I might forget something...

Jo-I am sorry for the migraine, again. Did all the tests you took amount to anything or are you just still left to wonder?
I bet the weather is getting just like I like it. Crisp. It is still pretty humid and muggy down here. Have you figured out your rotation?

Cendrine-What group of disc is the slow and heavy? I always look it up but never find it. How many times a year do you go to Disney?:D

Kim- I know you are probably already gone but I just wanted to say it must be a big bus to bring back all those packages!

OK now that I have got all that down...I still feel like I am forgetting something.

I am sorry if I am. We are working from the time we get up until the time we are going to bed almost.
My workouts are sporadic. I went yesterday and did the 1st week of meso 2 legs. But this whole week I worked out at home on Monday before we left and then 2 times since we have been here. It is hard to get back to the hotel room at 9:30 at night and then get up 4 something and then the gym that I have the vouchers for does not open till 5:30 and I have to rush to get in a good workout. But I figure I will just do the best I can and then when I get home I am really going to make up fo lost time. As far as my muscles go they should be getting plenty of rest! I am still going to try to get in a few workouts but I just do not think I can go everyday. I don't sleep the best when I am at a hotel so I am going to do the best I can.

OK...I am sorry if this sounds like a pity party, it really is not meant that way! I thought it was going to be worse but except for missing my workouts this is not as bad as I thought. We are just steadily working and trying to get the job finished.

The gym I am going to is kind of funny because there is a cat that hangs out in front and the other day I was ther before they opened (of course) and it was waiting and the lady opened the door and dumped out some food. So they have a resident cat!

OK I have got to go get ready for bed. Sorry for yapping your heads off!

Rachel

Hi Rachel,

you don't sound like you are whining, this is exactly what I would be saying if I was staying at a hotel and working my behind off morning till night! You are doing great getting any kind of workout done with your kind of schedule!

I think the slow and heavy is just called the slow and heavy. I found it that way on the workout manager. It's a 3 workout set. Sorry I can't be more helpful...

We only go to Disneyland so much because the kids got annual passes for Christmas from their grandparents and we are trying to get our money's worth, because once the passes are expired we won't be going for a long time. Admission is now 72.- for a day! Times that by four and it becomes a very expensive outing, and that does not include any food yet.... So, we are enjoying it while we can. The great thing is that we got a parking pass as well, so that saves us an addtional 12.- a visit and we can just come and go as we please. One day we just went there for 3 hours and came back. It's nice when you can be relaxed about it like this and not have to worry about wether you got all the rides in you wanted. I remember going when I was a teacher, taking my class there for an end of the year fieldtrip. We got group rates, so it wasn't as bad, but still, with all the lines and everything, we only got in 6 rides.... That's expensive rides if you ask me.... Anyway, didn't mean to go into all that. Sorry....
