Well the house still did not clean itself!:D

I hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend. I am finally starting to relax and it is sinking in that I really do have all these days off so I do not have to sprint if you know what I mean.

We had such a good time last night at our friends. We went out to a really good steak house in the middle of no where (a little town called Avinger) and then we came back and petted everything. When you go up to the fences everything wants attention. All the donkeys and the horses. The most tame thing out there I think is the miniature bull (which is still pretty big!) and he does not know that he is head butting you that hard:D. We had alot of fun.

This morning I did the first 5 intervals of IMAX2 since I skipped a workout this week. (it is normally my day off) It was also no equipment abs. I forgot how hard that one was. I have not been working my abs like I should nut I think I will get back to it. I think this week since I only have 4 days before we leave I will do the 4DS circuit too. I have never done it as a circuit so hopefully my body will say hmmmm? And respond. I liked the one week I did of the buts and guts rotation but now am craving some tough UB work.I have to figure out what rotation I will start next but I think we might be working out of town for a few weeks when we get back so I will have to look into a gym membership in the town we are in and try to remember how to workout in one:eek:. It has been a couple of years since I have been to a gym and now I have gotten used to Cathe getting me through her workouts so I am a little nervous about that.

Cendrine-I forgot to ask how was your B-Day? At least you got to celebrate with a new workout! I am so glad UPS made it. What a treat! Did you like power hour. I was thinking about getting that one too. I am looking at a few. My dh says I should go ahead and order whatever but I always feel weird about spending all that money at once. But I know in the end I will. I am going to check out the September rotation and see what I need for that, but if we are out of town I will not be able to use them right now anyway. Where is the travel fit when I need it right?
As far as the animals go, will kind of borrow a male now and again for stud service and then if they have a female they normally keep them and if they are males they will sale them. They say they are going to sale them all no matter what but they fall in love and name them and just can not part with them. Even the chickens have names.

Well I am off to do some leisurely cleaning. Yesterday I got one bathroom! Maybe today I will accomplish a little more!

Have a great day!

Rachel

Hi Rachel,

I'm glad you had a good dinner with your friends yesterday!

I had a nice birthday. A friend of mine made us lasagne for dinner and we had a fruit tart for dessert (the kind with custard and chocolate covered crust) One of my favorite. Had the rest of it for breakfast this morning...LOL!

I liked Power Hour. I noticed that the more homeworkouts I do the more variety I crave, so even though I could have gotten a similar total body workout with ME which I do have, it was nice to have a different one that keeps things a little different. I've been working out from home for 6 years now and have only stepped foot in hotel gyms on rare occasions when we are away from home. I figure, with all the membership money I save, I can afford some variety, besides, I used birthday money for it this time...LOL!

I previewed the whole cross train express yesterday and I think you might like that one. I also looked at cardio kicks and circuit max, I think I will like those as well, I know they will get me to work up a good sweat, that's for sure.

The nice thing is that most of the moves she uses are not new to me because I have all her more recent workouts. They treat 360s, drop squats, pendulums, flying angels, power scissors, and moves like that new, but I already know those, so it should not be too hard to keep up move wise, I'm sure endurance wise I'll be breathing hard along with the rest of them! Sometimes I find it hard to use a familiar move in a different choreography sequence, so that will keep me on my toes as well. Over all, I am excited to have more options and variety! I know I will not always want to workout to STS, so it is nice to have more variety when taking a break. I'm actually thinking that I'll only be doing STS once a year so I don't get sick of it. It's a wonderful workout, but it is also intense and I think my body needs the chance to do some other things here and there.

Well, we have no plans for this weekend. DH has to work so much, since he has to pick up the slack for his collegue who got fired, that he is glad for an extra day to do work on. That's ok with us, we'll just have a regular school day tomorrow, and then Sept 20 my brother visits from Switzerland and we get to take the whole week off, go to the beach, Disneyland, applepicking in the mountains and other fun stuff like that!

Cendrine I know I probably missed something somewhere but are you from Switzerland or does your brother just live there now? I saw where you were taking about German but I did not know why you were referencing it.
That is one of many good things about homeschooling is that you can make your own schedule. It is wonderful that you have that freedom.
The tart sounds like something I would love and picking apples straight from the trees too. We so not have that luxury here. We do have berries though and I love them.
I will have to look up the cross train express. I will probably only do sts once a year too except for this year. I will repeat it when we get shock cardio! Can't wait for that!

I am off to get ready to go visit my brother and then to a concert...See you tomorrow.

Rachel

Hey again, Rachel,

yes, you must have missed it, I was born and raised in Switzerland. I came to California 11 years ago to marry dh whom I met in Switzerland (I was his translator...:))
My whole family is still in Switzerland. My mom really likes the states and comes visits about once a year (the air fare is so expensive), and one of my brothers comes regularly too. My mom feels like she has to stay in Switzerland because of her mom who turned 90 and still lives by herself this year, and her brother who is mentally disabled. If she didn't have them, she would consider coming and staying for longer blocks of time, now that she is retired.

DH's family all live in the Seattle area, so we are pretty much on our own down here. I kind of have gotten used to the 'freedom' if that is the term, of not having to be at every family function put on. I enjoy doing my own functions that includes lots of good friends from around here. They are really our family in a broader sense.

Apple picking is a lot of fun for me, because where I grew up it was a farmer's village even though I was not raised on a farm mylself, we got to go apple picking, cherry picking, help with the potato harvest and the milking on any farm around. So I love that I am able to drive an hour and give my kids a simiar experience. Of course we always stretch it as far as it can go, the place we go picking has raspberries as well and there is a pond for fishing, so ds gets to do that as well and when we get home we always make fun things with the apples, anything we can think of! It's so fun! I love that about fall!
