6 Month Alumni - Friday 9/11`

Okay...I didn't decide yet on a rotation but I may be close! :p In the meantime I decided to do some favorites that I haven't pulled out in a while. So today I did Boot Camp from the Intensity Series. I did excellent except I didn't get all the squat thrusts in and my wrist is bothering me so I substituted chest press and flyes with light weights (high rep) for the push-ups. (It didn't hurt my feelings not to do them anyway! :D)

In remembering 9/11; the weather today is exactly the way it was the day it happened and I can't believe it's already been 8 years! It's going to be 85 here today and that's how it was that day. My thoughts are with all those families who lost loved ones in that horrible tragedy.

Hope you all are having a good day! Rachel, hope the weather is perfect for you on your weekend and Cendrine, what fabulous workout are you doing today?

Jo, it's so good to have you back! 9/11 is one of those events that everyone seems to remember exactly what they were doing that day. I was working on the wards at the hospital and a nurse came out of a patient's room where the patient was watching tv and told the staff about the planes hitting the towers. We had this really grumpy older lady who worked at the desk and I will always remember her response,"If they're not sending them to this hospital, then I don't want to hear about it.":(:( I was so busy tending to patients that I really didn't know the extent of what happened till I got home.

I've been thinking about rotations too. I'm missing my Cathe but will finish the rotations I've started. As if today, I'm half done CLX!!:D It's looking like STS Cardio won't be hear till about Christmas.

My present plan is
6 more weeks of CLX
4 weeks of Insanity
1 recovery week
2 weeks at Disney:D:D:D
4 weeks of Insanity
Christmas holidays
Start STS with the new cardio. Are people thinking of a 3 month or 6 month rotation??

2 weeks of Disney LOL!
I love that! Hey, I'm gonna make a plan like that someday! :D

I still remember 9/11 too. I had not been watching any news on the tv or listening to the radio and I was busy getting my classroom ready for the day. Then my students come in and tell me that some bad people had flown a plane into the twin towers. It didn't register with me for some reason. But boy, when I saw the footage it was so unreal!

Kim, let me know how you like Insanity. I watched some previews online and it seems like a more intense workout than any bootcamp ones I've done and i wasn't sure I would enjoy them! But maybe the lack of weights might help balance it out a bit? Not that it would be easier, but just different hard... Anyway, on the fence about it and waiting to hear more people's opinions whoave done it.

Jo, it's so cool that you have all Cathe's dvd's... I am slowly working my way up too! I have a wishlist, believe it or not, after just getting a bundle... Unfortunately the rest of the dvds are not part of a bundle, that is, I would get too many repeats so I have to buy them all individually...which will make it more pricey....

Workout was all step from cross train express today. I thought I did it a couple of days ago but remember I did step and intervals instead because my shoulders were still sore from something. So I did all step today and after doing the shoulders and abs, I decided to do half of the step portion again because I like to work out for a full hour. So I did and I felt great about doing it. Sometimes I let myself get away with shorter workouts because the dvd is short and don't add on anything, but I think in the future I will always make up the difference, it felt so good!

Kim, I don't know that much about Insanity...does it include weight work as well? I thought is was just cardio. How does CLX compare to STS? I know it's completely differrent so I'm referring more to the kind of results your seeing and if you feel it hits the muscles as well? I have never been able to get into Chalene. I did try a turbo jam that someone loaned me but she just doesn't click with me...she was okay and I liked her better than others but I just didn't feel the desire to do her over and over.

Cendrine, sounds like we're in the same place about Insanity! One thing I've always liked about the Xtrain cardio is they are so easy to tack onto other workouts. That was what I really liked about the new cardio in 4DS too!

I'm so glad to be chatting with you girls again and glad to be doing my workouts again!!!!

Oh Kim, I also wanted to add...it sounds like your year is all planned out! You've inspired me to sit down tomorrow and get myself organized again! Before I was planned and organized through labor day and as I said in previous post...I'm LOST! LOL! But not for long! I'll get it together tomorrow! :p:eek:
