Good Morning to all:

Today was another I-Train ( I -Tread) 37 minute treadmill workout. Does anyone else do these or want to try them? I have 2 promotional codes that lets you download 2 of them for free. These really keep me from getting bored on the treadmill, and I know that I am doing something structured, so I can make improvments as I go along.

I will be going to DC in the morning tomorrow, a 6:15 flight so I will not be on the boards until later tomorrow evening after I get back. Hope someone else starts the thread!

Josie
Don't you just love Cabo? We are probably going to Playa Del Carmen in February. I belong to an organization for work that meets in Mexico every February. Usually DH goes too but this coming year he may opt to stay home :-( Those all inclusives can be murder on a diet! You will lose the weight in no time. I have heard of some people doing the Nutrisystem, but most go off for some reason or another, mostly the $$ factor I think.

Linny:
My doctor told me that you are not in true menopause until you have had no period for a year.. I have been period free for about 3-4 years now. I hear you on the weight issue. I was ready to ask my doctor for a thyroid test! I finally realized that my eating habits wee what was keeping the weight going up. Now I am trying to keep under 1500 calories a day, allow myself one "cheat" meal a week where I eat whatever I want, no restrictions. This is usually a Mexican food lunch on Saturday with DH. My other downfall is after dinner when I watch my one TV show ( All My Children) and I have to have something sweet.. I bought these WW ice cream bars, chocolate with chocolate cake coating YUM! You would not know they are WW. This makes me think I had my treat and I don;t feel deprived. They have "saved" me from gorging on junk after dinner. When do you decide if you want to be a visiting nurse? I am in awe of people that do this type of work! There is no pay high enough for caring people like this!;-)

Jen:
Ouch! getting veins stripped sounds like it hurts a lotx( Good for you for sticking with Cardio & weights.. do you do the Imax workout thatg is on that same DVD? Still waiting for my Tamilee Stretch DVD to get here.

Cathy:
Do you have all the Firms? I have the first 6 original ones in Beta format! How old is that? They were $50 each and you had to pre-order just like Cathe does so they could use your money to make the workout. They are what got me into weight training and I loved them! I can still recite some of Susan Harris's "quips" from Vol 1 LOL :)
My August rotation is more for definition so I am alternating the Pyramids with Muscle Endurance each week along with cardio.

Have a great day all. I will check in later today.. hopefully someone will start the thread tomorrow while I am "winging my way" to the Capital for a meeting in the Commissioner of Custom's office!

Deb:)

Happy Wednesday, All,

Yesterday, I did Part 1 of Christi Taylor's Hi-Lo Heaven, then Segment 3 of Tamilee's 10-minute stretches, the one where she's on the ground (I think it's called ``lying down'', but it's mostly kneeling, since she's on a beach).

Deb, having the veins stripped was day surgery. It didn't hurt much afterward as long as I took painkillers. The bad part was wearing support pantyhose 24 hours a day for 2 weeks. I had it done in July a few years ago -anyone thinking of having this done, learn from my mistake and never do this in hot weather!

I do have the Imax (I think it's Imax 2?) that was made the same year as Cardio and Weights, but I bought them when they first came out, so I have them on 2 separate VHS tapes. I like Imax 2 a lot.

Tonight, I'm planning on doing Zone Big Ball Sculpt, then Part 2 of Tamilee's 10-minute stretches, the one where she's sitting.

Have a wonderful day,
Jen

Hi Jen and Deb and those that follow:
Jen: I worked with afew patients that were brittle diabetics, some mornings their FBS would be in th 30's then next day in the 300's. I give you credit giving your own shots. I can give them but not sure if I could give one to myself. Pantyhose in the summer.Yuck! I had some sclerotherapy done in May and decided next time I'll do it in the fall. I had to wear ace wraps, talk about sweating(whew).
Deb:Have a safe trip! I won't be able to start post tomorrow. I'm going to lake tonite and plan on being there till tomorrow afternoon.
I go in this friday to talk with nurse manager and find out if we're a good fit. So far everything looks good except they want a reference from someone I reported to. I really don't think my old boss is going to give me a good one. I just talked with the recruiter in HR and she said to use my judgement on who would give me the best reference. So the administrator(at past job) actually hired me for the nurse position and then the Assist.DON. This new director has only been there for less than a year. I told recruiter that my last director wanted me out with the residents and nurses. Help them and be an advocate for both. Then along came the new director and she didn't want me to be out with staff and residents. She said,"You are my assistant".I was having a difficult transistion regarding the changes. Well I think it will look a little suspicious if I don't give my bosses name. What's a girl to do?
Josie: I never knew anyone personally to do Nurtri-system but the commerical looks like it works. If it wasn't for my crappy food choices, I'd be just right.
Cathy: Thats right it is now August. Oh boy does time go by fast in the summer. Projects for August:1. Get a job. 2.Make better food choices.3. Lose 10 pds.4. Practice yoga more often. 5. educate self daily on nursing skills. Theres afew to start. I'll check in later~Linny~

Hi Ladies,

Jen, I have been very lucky because varicous veins run in my family on both sides. I have been a runner since high school and have never had any. Someone told me that it was because of the running that I don't have a problem.

Today I will be spinning and tomorrow I plan to start the August rotation. I change it a bit to include my 4 days of running needed for my upcoming marathon.

Deb, Have a good trip.

Linny, I know what you mean about making better food choices. I'm going to try and eat clean on my own for the next month along with the rotation and see how it goes.

Josie

My Mom had varicose veins. Luckily I never have had them. I think it is because I only had two children and all the exercise.

Did GS Legs today and abs from BG. Been getting ready to take my daughter to medical school next week.

Take care all,

Rhonda
