Cathy I don't know what that new program you want to try is like but I would take a week rest before I started something new. Is it like STS?
I wonder if you shouldn't switch to something totally different than STS.

Jann I have a couple of months left on nutrition. If I go back to using it I might sign up again because I do like it. It is only worth it if I lose weight.

I think I remember we have an ab wo on Monday. I would like to do it tonight but am still working (well not right now- I get a break don't I:rolleyes:)
My office is the best looking it's been in months and I did get a lot of work done. Unfortunately I still have a lot left to do.

Yes, the tower folds. The web cam guys says it "will fit under your bed" -- I nearly lost it when he said that. ((old firm joke)) :p

Cathy I had P90X. (gave it to my son) I hated it! Mostly I didn't like Tony. I have other friends that loved it (and Tony). It's very much the same principle of heavy weights. From what I am reading you may need a break from heavy weights -- Here are the signs of over training--

  • Washed-out feeling, tired, drained, lack of energy
  • Mild leg soreness, general aches and pains
  • Pain in muscles and joints
  • Sudden drop in performance
  • Insomnia
  • Headaches
  • Decreased immunity (increased number of colds, and sore throats)
  • Decrease in training capacity / intensity
  • Moodiness and irritability
  • Depression
  • Loss of enthusiasm for the sport
  • Decreased appetite
  • Increased incidence of injuries.
  • A compulsive need to exercise

Just finished disc 1 :D those bootcamp pushups still not happn'n! :confused: I am already really feeling it in my shoulders... :)
 
LOL!!! well, they all describe me , jann! so, can i just quit for awhile? except for the decreased appetite, nothing seems to make me stop eating.:) you just started STS???? cool! is this your first or second? i've have heard several people say they don't like the tony guy. i also heard that he uses foul language. is that true? jann, i know i have asked you this already, but i never updated my ticker, can you tell me how to do it again? are all of ya'll doin STS? rats, shoulda waited and done it w/ya'll. :) can't wait to hear what ya'll thik of it. i love STS! i just should have taken a longer break in between. but, this is my last week, so i'll make.

did disc 33, and then did "Finding your core" from the TLT series w/susan harris. i don't like to waste a whole workout on that one. it is a great workout , but of course alot of core/abs which is great. only got abs in one time last week. so, great workout today.

and the overtraining one-- i feel like that all the time. do you really think i could be working out too much? i take 1-2 days a week off. i don't get it. i thought that is how you're supposed to do it. so, how do people do the rotations that cathe puts up? i can't do them, they are way too hard for me.

I agree some of the symptom describes menopause as well - :p;) I know if I take a week off -- I come back refreshed.

This is my second time... I plan to add Shock Cardio into into it if we get it before we finish. Otherwise I'll be doing my own cardio. I learned quickly last time I can't keep up with Cathe's cardio rotation.

Select your User CP and edit your signature. To update the count if you are not using the WM you may have to manually adjust you disc count then update your sig. I put Cathe's rotation into my workout manager's calendar -- so I'll see if it updates as we go...:cool::cool:
 
Hi, Y'all.

I just finished Disc 1--I had to take every modification I could, but I did the whole thing! I really hate push ups, probably because of my arthritic shoulder, but I was determined to do them all, even though I did most of them on my knees. Those boot camp push ups weren't happenin' for me, either, Jann, I just did regular ones. Anyhow, oddly enough, my shoulder feels better than it did when I started the workout. Wonder how it will feel tomorrow? CLX actually made it stronger, and I had less pain, so I think maybe this will be even better.

I did most of the extended stretch, too. I almost didn't, but at my age, I'm as concerned about my flexibility as I am about muscle tone and my size. I love Cathe's stretches, so I really enjoyed it.

BTW, the San Gennaro Festival was lots of fun yesterday. There was lots of the best Italian food in Little Italy there in booths all up and down Mulberry St. There was pizza, sausage & peppers, calamari & cannollis. I managed to hold things pretty much at bay (even though I love cannollis). It was interesting to see people actually eating deep-fried Oreos and Twinkies. You read right--they dip Oreos and Twinkies in batter and deep fry them!! I passed those by without too much of a problem.

Well, I'm going to hit the Advil bottle now and am pretty sure I'll sleep like a dead bug tonight!

Hi, all - I am just popping in here very briefly to say that I will probably be hit and miss until the wedding, which is 19 days away now!! (Depending on what time it actually is...)

So, the workouts are kind of just whatever gets done that day. DH really wants me to just burn up the cardio, each workout. But I think I need more structure since I'm so used to doing rotations. I've actually been doing Karen Voight alot lately. Partly because I wanted to try some of the Pilates workouts that I've got and never utilize. Also, because she has a great yoga stretch on her Sleek Physique DVD. DH actually does this one with me, and we've both seen our range of motion improve a good bit. Plus, with her workouts, I think I never had the abs strength to do the moves properly before and so now I can do them and it's a great workout on Pilates abs and back.

I'm also feeling slimmer in the waist with all the emphasis I've placed on this area, and DH swears I'm looking better. I will be going to get my alterations this week, and we'll see how the dress feels now, three weeks after trying it on the first time. Hopefully, no waistline alterations will be needed!!

Let me tell you, it's been eventful these past few weeks. First, there was the last minute reorder of the invitations when our first option fell through. The next thing that happened - the bridal shop caught fire last Wednesday with seven of the bridesmaids' dresses still there. Yes, everything is fine now, but we were scrambling trying to create a Plan B for most of that day - cue the Wedding Nazi music!! (BTW - the shop didn't burn down, the dresses were sent to the cleaners and replacements were ordered just in case by the bridal shop.) BUT, it's been exhausting - and I'm not the one getting married!!! SO, as you can see, preoccupied is an understatement right now.

I'm hoping to read up on how everyone has been doing and pop back in here and there. I'll try to at least post how the fitting went!!

Just know I haven't forgotten you, I'll be back and I can't wait to see what everyone's been up to.

I did no eq abs and disc 1. I remember now I did like the fast pace BUT I am already sore. It seemed harder than the first round through.

Tricia I am thankful my son's wedding went perfectly. I can't imagine the stress of all the last minute problems. Of course dh and I decided to get married and 6 weeks later we had the wedding. The invitations went out a week after we decided to get married. DS and dil took a year to plan.

Tomorrow is the cardiologist.

Cathy did you go into Cathe Fun and change your disc number? I have been reading some other gals have had to go into user cp delete the html code from your sig save it then go into Cathe Fun and change disc number and add it again. I am hoping by using the calendar it will automatically change it. We will know tomorrow after I do disc 2.

I would try just changing your Cathe Fun disc number and see what happens before I go through all the deleting and re-adding...
 
OH Magnolia I am so happy for you! WAY to Go! All those pushups and they keep coming. :confused: The Best Thing is STS 2 no more pushups! yay!! Great job at staying at bay -- I am not so good at that.... BUT, the fired twinkies well.. yuck.

Joan Good luck with the cardiologist. I hope he has good news for your Mom. [Joan]

Tricia -- You wedding nazi - :D I am sure the wedding is going to be wonderful, it sounds like they need you running it!

I jumped on the treadmill for 1 hour this morning. Now off for a tummy massage.

Well, I am not as sore today as I thought I would be, but I am really tired. Missed my walk today, but tomorrow is Disc 2, and I'll make that one.

Today was very long. Just as I thought the surgery is cancelled until mother takes more tests.

Jann I tried to put up weight loss ticker I went to Cathe Fun and on the help menu it said to put in current weight and goal weight if you didn't want to go through workout manager. There is no where to enter that at Cathe Fun. What am I not seeing?

I really need to start watching calories and today was going to be the start. Unfortunately dil decided to be "nice" and brought over 4 brownies she had made last night. I resisted them all day but I came home tired and hungry. That means there are now 3 brownies. Calories are still ok but I need to be careful the rest of the evening.

Joan I am sorry about your news. Hey there could be only 1 brownie left - :D That would probably be at my house....:eek:

On Cathe fun page there is a place to put starting weight - current weight - goal weight fill in all three. Select how you would like it displayed and hit update -- that will add it to your sig.
 
Magnolia actually it hurt a bit today.:( She told me it would as she gets deeper into the tissue to pull it apart. I feel like I did a bunch of ab work today. :confused:
My shoulders are still sore from Monday's workout. Looking forward to disc 2 :D
