Good Morning,

I thought I would start us off before I went to bed. Tomorrow is another Ram's football game and I probably won't log on until late. Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Joan

Hi, Y'All.

I did Disc 16 today. It was tough! Plus I had weights that were too heavy for about 3 of the exercises. I had a little problem with the Workout Manager when I tried to adjust the weights, but I finally got it to work.

Welcome back, Beth! We missed you. Haven't heard from a few of the others for several days. I hope everyone is alright.

Everyone have a great day.

Magnolia

Hello!!

Yes, I am back and FIRED UP!!! :)I picked up a copy of Oxygen mag at the airport and read an article about carb cycling- something I had an interest in but did not understand= anyway- I now have a food scale sitting on my counter and a plan...... I will let you know..;)

I just finished my 3 miles run on the treadmill and now will do disc 7- I got behind again being out of town- eventually, I will get through this program again..

Does the workout manager keep the adjusted weights for future workouts, or just for the one you just finished?

Beth

Hi Ladies! I am so sorry I have been missing. We were at the Cleveland Clinic last week for my husbands heart condition. He has Hypertrophic Obstructive CardioMyopathy and needs surgery. While there they did tests after tests and found he also has 1 90% blocked artery and 2 partial blocked arteries. So they will be doing a myectomy(scraping out part of the inside of his heart) and heart bypasses on him next week. A double major surgery. Needless to say I am stressed and have been trying to get things pulled together to be out of town for 2 weeks. And things ready for when we get back.

I'll check in when we get home (or from the hotel room if time allows). I don't think I'll be getting back to STS for a while. :( I am so sorry Magnolia. I am so glad that you are doing well! YOU GO GIRL! :D

Beth let us know about that carb cycling. I've never heard of it.

Joan I hope your Mom is doing well. :)

Hey there, workout friends! I'm sorry I've been MIA - I should have known it would be like this, it's October! We have such a bunch of stuff ALWAYS in October. DH's birthday (Which was on my Sister's wedding day this year!), Isabella's birthday, my birthday coming up....And I'm back Cantoring at church, too. Here's what we did this past weekend. Thursday we took the kids to the pumpkin patch. Friday kids were off school and parent/teacher conferences were held. That night we took the kids to Columbia for Boo at the Zoo and they had a blast trick or treating through the zoo, there was a dance party (which my daughter Bella LOVED!), and alot of other really cool stuff. On Saturday, DH took Bella riding on the quad, then that night everyone carved their pumpkins. Yesterday (after cantoring at church) we went to a Civil War Re-Enactment in Historic Brattonsville. VERY LOUD! After that, we came home and watched the Steeler game....which was also intense, but they won (Yeay!!). Now today, it's trying to get back to normal. I'm tired just typing that out. But, it was a very fun weekend for everybody.

My workouts haven't been so great, the only Cathe I did was High Step Challenge Timesaver one day last week. I'm in search of a new direction and goal so I can find a rotation to really jump into. Don't think I'll be going back to STS until we get the Cardio workouts to go with them.

Jann, I'll be keeping you and you're husband in my prayers - I hope he's doing well under the circumstances.

Beth - I love getting FIRED UP about a new direction to try, it's really exciting when you have that energy going. Do let us know how it goes for you, please.

Magnolia, way to go with the workout. I remember some of my weights seemed off around there, too. I thought the workout manager had it in for me! Hopefully, you've got it straightened out now, huh?

I'm not going to stay long, I'm off to peruse the rotations forum and see if anything peaks my interest! Wish me luck,

Hi Everyone!

Jann, I will keep your husband in my prayers!! He will be in good hands at the Cleveland Clinic. You just rest when you can!

Tricia, good to hear from you!

I finished my eating day as planned and am now trying to stay out of te kitchen until I go to bed. I should probably just go to bed.

Good night all!!
Beth

Hi everyone,

Jann You know you and your dh are in our prayers. I'm glad they found the problem. I think that is more than half the battle. Take your vitamins and take care of yourself. I've heard Cleveland clinic is very good.

Today I did limit calories to under 1400. That's a start. I did Body Blast Step Blast but didn't get to disc 13.

Elliot and I made a ghost costume from a white pillow case today. I'm not sure how scary she was after she put on her purple beads over costume.
Tomorow we visit the fire station to take a tour.

Joan

Hi, Y'All.

I dunno, Joan, purple beads on a ghost could be pretty scary!

Jann, I hope you know that you and your husband are in my prayers, too. You take care of yourself. Joan is right about taking your vitamins, etc. I'll be thinking about you.

Tricia, so good to hear from you. I'm a cantor, too! I really love it. Lots of work for us singers at our church this year. Our choir is performing the Bach Magnificat and selections from Handel's Messiah for our Christmas concert.

Beth, good luck. Let us know how the plan works. I started doing Paul McKenna's "I Can Make You Thin" about a week ago. He says not to weigh, but I couldn't resist, so I weighed this morning. I lost 3 lbs.!

I think the Workout Manager keeps the 1 rep max numbers until you change them. My problem with it is that sometimes it works great, but sometimes, I think there's a little glitch or two.

I'm doing Low Impact Step today and an ab workout I haven't exactly decided on yet.

Have a great day, everyone!

Magnolia

Hi, back again!

I did Low Impact Step and added 10-Minute Solution Tummy Toners, Crunchless Abs. Had to modify that one! Glad I can check in here, it keeps me honest!

Have a great day!

Magnolia

Hi Ladies,

Jann Keeping good thoughts for you and family.

I just finished disc 13. I keep feeling like I want to do multiple discs to catch up but the way my shoulder feels I better not.

It was pouring down rain for our trip to fire station. I'm not sure what she got out of trip but she did like the plaster dalmation in the entry.

Another good eating day. I hope I keep it up.

Joan

Hi, Y'All!

I just did Disc 17, and my legs are FRIED:eek:!!!! I heard a rumor that they were going to do some maintenance on the Workout Manager early this morning, so I'm going to check it out.

Jann and Joan, I'm thinking of you both and your families. Just hope all goes well for both of you.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Magnolia

hey ya'll, been busy this week as usual. had the grandkids on monday and it poured rain all day. errands on tuesday, did an abstinence presentation at one of out hi schools all day today, and tomorrow, i'm gonna try really hard to do drill max. . then, i have my Bible study tomorrow nite. so, that is what i'm doin'. so, later.

Hi Ladies!

Lots of carbs today!! I did disc 7 and 45 min of tennis.

Cathy, did you get your drill max in?

Magnolia, how does the Paul McKenna program work? I checked out the web but couldn"t tell. I love having fried legs!!:D

Going to bed!

Hi everyone,

No wo today. I didn't get to bed until 3am and have work tonight. I did clean the house today and do have a pretty high calorie burn. Unfortunately I ate even more calories than usual when I found where I hid Haloween candy. Maybe next time dh should hide candy but he's worse than I am. I guess I could turn off lights and pretend I'm not home and just not give out candy.

Joan

Good Morning,

I plan to do disc 14 today.

I'm taking Elliot to her mother's class for Halloween party. She has a clown costume and we paint her nose and cheeks red. Last night they had party at Little Gym. Normally they stamp hands and feet and she shows it off the next day. My son has a picture of the saddest clown when she realized she couldn't get foot stamped because of the costume.

Back later.

Joan

Back from the party. We painted her face and then she decided she wanted to dress as a princess. So we had a clown princess. It has been pouring down rain. I think they said that more than half of the days so far in October have had rain. Joan

Hi, Y'All!

I took a rest day today, although I'm not sure how much rest I got. Grocery store, errands, class, etc. Tomorrow I do Disc 18.

Beth, I really like being sore, especially fried legs. Weird to say things like that, but it only means results! "I Can Make You Thin" gives you four golden rules to follow, and that's all. You have to (1.) Eat whenever you are truly hungry physically (stomach rumbling, etc) (2.) Eat only what you really want to eat, not just what you think you should eat (3.) Eat very slowly, savoring each bite. (4) Stop eating when you think you are full, meaning you will leave food on your plate. He also encourages exercise and drinking plenty of water. There is a book available in most book stores. It's not expensive and it includes a CD which helps you re-program your mind to really listen to your body and it reinforces the golden rules. I really like the program. I have noticed that I am not compelled to eat an entire dish of nuts or half a box of cereal anymore. In fact, there's been a can of my favorite nuts in the pantry for over a week, and it's still mostly full. (Unheard of for me!)

Joan, I'll bet your granddaughter is so cute! She just sounds really precious.

Well, have a great evening, everyone!

Magnolia

woo doggies!! did ALL of drill max. what a super workout. i think STS has made me stronger, cuz i made it thru. not that is was easy by any means, but maybe a tiny bit easier than before. :)

Good Morning, All!

Cathy, YOU GO GIRL! :D I'm impressed! ;)

I just finished Disc 18. I was okay until the concentrated curls! Scary! Anyway, I toughed it out and did the best I could.

I hope you all have a great weekend.

Magnolia

Hi Ladies!

Well, I broke down and bought the sts cardio. Something about seeing the last chance for free downloads. I hope I can do them:confused:

I did disc 9 legs and then pilates to stretch them out again.

Magnolia, I like those eating ideas. It kind of takes the frenzy out of it! The carb cycling is working pretty well. Last night I had my bookclub and we always eat- so today I am sticking to low carbs- its not that hard.

Have fun with your grand kids for those of you that have them-- None for me yet!

Have a good weekend everyone!
