50 and over week of November 7 check in

Good morning,

Did you change your clocks?

Deb Welcome back. I'm so sorry for your loss.

My mil has been very bad and we thought she would die. I was worried she wouldn't get a chance to see 7mo new great grandson. It helped me when we were all able to see her two weeks ago. Son flew in from Portland OR and other son, wife, Elliot and Luke were all able to drive over and see her. She is actually getting stronger but I can't believe we have much time considering the number of strokes she keeps having. I take comfort in the fact that she has lived a good life (86 years).

I got STS disc 27 in late last night. I can't believe I know how much better I feel lifting and then have trouble getting started. I need to be on a rotation at all times I can miss a day and make it up the next. If I don't have a plan and stop lifting it takes months to get back at it.

Happy Sunday, Y'All!

Joan, I was recently reading some articles about health and weight loss that indicated that if you don't have a plan, you won't get anywhere. Seems to me that's right on target. My plan is to get my back well and start from scratch. My workouts have been so sporadic, I think I need to just start from the basics and work my way back from this. My back seems a tiny bit less painful every day, at least it doesn't hurt so much as to make me cry, anyway.

Have a great evening, everyone!

hey all, well, no baby yet, possibly tonite. if so, w/outs may be sporadic this week. but, i probably need a week off anyway, i've been incredibly tired lately.

well, we have had the most beautiful weather, cool and sunny. went to the park with the kids on friday, rode horses yesterday. this is why we live in texas. for sure, not for the summers.

well, if i don't get back it is because i have grandchildren.

today i did (the firm) cardio split, lower body, and 1 set of a LB challenge from the firm rotation, which was VERY HARD!!! reminds me very much of jen carman's killer workouts!

yesterday i did fat blaster and used the incline for all the step and 5's & 7's for 4-limb.

still waiting for grandbaby #4, the due date is tomorrow, and my dil is sooo ready for this baby to come out. so, if i'm awol the rest of the week, it is cuz i have the g/kids here.

have a nice week!

Good morning, Y'All!

Still here, sitting on the couch. My back is so much better, though. There is still some pain, but not nearly as much as there has been. I go back to the chiropractor tomorrow, so we'll see how close I am getting.

I have taken this time to do most of my Christmas shopping online. I am almost finished, in fact. It helps that I don't have a huge list, and I make some of the gifts (cookies, mostly).

Cathy, congrats on the coming grand baby. Hope all will go well.

Have a great day, everyone!

Magnolia I am so glad to hear your back is getting better! It's so hard to believe how long it takes us to heal now. Just a little tweak in my shoulder took weeks. I have very little shopping to do as well. Internet shopping can be fun -- especially when the boxes start arriving. It's almost like a little something for us too!! ;):p

Cathy -- so is that g-baby here yet?

Joan How is your mom? It's nice to hear you MIL is getting along.

Deb -- the challenges of life. Sorry to hear about your loss. :( Pop in when you can.

Well, I've been doing Cathe's November rotation. So far it's been a good one for me. Today was low impact step. Now, I must get outside while it's sunny to get some fall work done.
Have a great day ladies! :)

Hi, Y'All.

Just got back from the chiropractor, and now I get to add gentle stretching. YAY!! Well, at least it's something, and it means I am getting well. At this rate, I should be in good enough shape to watch the new workouts. I am going to do my best to never have to do this again!

Hope you are all well. Have a great day, everyone!

Joan have you gotten your free 3 hours yet? Have you contacted CS? I've asked several times and keep getting the run-a-around. I am about to start a thread but, was trying to do it through CS.
Thanks!

I tried to contact through help desk but it didn't go through. Said I needed to be logged in but I was already logged in. I haven't tried again because I have been too busy to even post.

Hello!!

Ok Jann and Joan- what is the three free hours?

Magnolia- glad your back is getting better- keep following your drs orders!

Deb- I am so sorry for your loss!

Cathy- I admire your energy!

Well, I guess I need a plan too because I am really of my routine-any plan is better than no plan!

Hi, Y'all!

I'm being good and following the orders I have been given. I have had plenty of time to come up with a plan. I am thinking of starting with just walking and Classical Stretch for the first few days, then I'm considering an abbreviated version of Cathe's beginner rotation. I am exploring a new solution to dieting, and it looks good. Bill Phillips' Transformation. Right now, I am reading Food for Life. Seems a sensible solution. None of the diets I have ever tried has been the long-term answer. This is a plan for eating right and working out for the rest of your life. I have tried a couple of the recipes, and they were simple and good. I guess I'll give it a try.

Have a great day, everyone!
