50 and over week of November 1 check in

Hi ladies,

Jann still thinking good thoughts for you.

I'm starting this early in case I sleep as late tomorrow as I did today. I didn't get up until 11:00. I haven't slept 10 hours straight in a long time. I really needed it.

I'm up to 2081 calories burned and I still have an hour and a half. I can't believe I am usually so inactive that the exercise doesn't add much to the total. I guess the goal is to be active AND exercise. Maybe tomorrow.

We spent most of the afternoon shopping and didn't start my spring cleaning until about 4:00. We, meaning dh, are going to paint the kitchen tomorrow. I cleaned out the green house window and put flowers back. I also washed all the crystal and china in china cabinet and took down and washed glass coverings on chandelier. Tomorrow I clean french doors to patio, clean floor and then move on to family room. If I can deep clean 2 rooms a weekend I may be done by Christmas. I actually would like to get it done before radiation starts for dm in 2 weeks. I think I will be so busy I won't feel like doing anything over weekends then- too worn out.

So far today I have helped rake and bag 26 bags of leaves. That should count as a wo. Now back to cleaning.

Took a "rest" day today. Tomorrow, Disc 19.

Just finished Disc 19 :eek:! I really like the double wave loads, they make life interesting. :confused:

WOW joan, yep i would think that is a w/out.

how is everyone? i was busy and then got sick. feel better today.
did the firm's cardio sculpt blaster, lower body of cardio split, and the floor work of B&G. about 70m total.
saturday i did standing legs. STILL a killer workout! and i had the grandkids. so, that was a double workout. LOL!

Cathy you wear me out just reading what you do.

I feel quilty not working out but I just haven't been making the time. I did order Kelly Coffey-Meyer's 30 minute to fitness- body training and NYC body sculpting workout. All the wo are 30 minutes I thought if it took less time I might get it in.

Magnolia You sound busy but I'm glad you haven't given up on STS. I will get back to it.

Cathy, is that the Standing Legs that has about 400 gazillion squats? That is a killer workout! Way to go!

Joan, I really love STS. So glad I bought it. It's the first time I have really looked forward to working out in several years.

Sorry to be so AWOL Ladies! Been crazy around here. I finished my last class with a course final grade of 89. Just started criminal law and boy is it hard!!!

Workouts are going well. I've missed so much on this thread. What is going on? Someone's MIL, or Mother,Jann's husband? Fill me in!

Good Morning, Ladies!

Deb, if I remember correctly, Jann's husband needs heart surgery, so she is spending a lot of time at the hospital. We are all praying for them both and hoping that all turns out well. I'll let Joan tell you about her mother, who just had surgery and will have to have (I think) radiation therapy.

Deb, I think an 89 is great! ;) Congratulations! I went to paralegal school in 1980 at the National Center for Paralegal Training in Atlanta. Don't know if it is still there, but they didn't offer any paralegal courses at KSU in those days. Those courses were tough!

I just finished 10 Minute Solutions Basic Hip Hop Dance (twice for 20 min.) and Pilates Abs from Ab Circuits. I'm now going out to vote, then spend the rest of the day working on my book review for school.

Good evening all,

Finally I got back to working out. I did Kelly Coffey-Meyer's NYC: Body Sculpting Workout. It is a 55 minute circuit that is upper, lower and abs. There are 30 minute premixes that does upper only and lower only.

I'm undecided what I want to do. Continue with sts even though I keep missing wo or do NYC( a New You Coming) and start up with meso 3 when you do. With sts the ab wo was the one I skipped the most and need the most. I'm surprised how much I feel this wo.

My mother had a partial mastectomy and on Oct. 21 had 2nd operation to get more. They have to have 2cm of noncancer tissue removed around cancer. They have now taken enough. Tomorrow we go to doctor for prescription not sure what it's for.:confused: Friday is radiologist to measure again. I can't believe this is really necessary since it was done after first operation and not that much more was taken. My brother retired from Post Office last Friday after 42 years and came this week to help. Since I want to hear what doctor has to say we probably will both go tomorrow. But he can take her Friday. I thought radiation would start November 11 which is 3 weeks after operation but they have to do something after they measure so probably won't start until the 16th. She is actually doing fine. Her breast doesn't hurt until she leans on her cane when she walks.

We started potty training for dgd Elliot yesterday. No accidents today. I just wish I didn't have to take her out everyday for 6 weeks while dm has radiation.

Hi Ladies!!! Prayers for your Mom, Joan. And Jann, if you are out there, prayers for your husband as well.

Trying to decide what to do for cardio today. I bought the FIRM's WAVE at Walmart last week, and have yet to decide if I like it. It slips all over the mat that came with it. I might try one of the workouts today as I have done the practice twice. Does anyone have this? And if so, do you like it. I am just kinda bored with step so I thought I would try this.

Thanks for the encouragement about school, I am freaking out about my Mid-term next week in Criminal Law. My instructor is a butt!!!! Wish me luck!

Hi, Ladies!

Deb, sounds like you have the same instructor I had for Criminal Law. He could be a real butt, too, but his goal was to make us think like lawyers. His philosophy was that if we were going to be lawyers' assistants, we needed to think the same way.

I just did Disc 20 Legs. Those sit and stands are HARD!!!!:eek: I am having to make my own modifications, but I am sure that if I keep trying, I'll get there. Otherwise, it was a great workout. Looking forward to being sore tomorrow!:confused:

No wo today. My brother came in town to help drive mother to appts but since he is here to visit I don't get as much done.

Deb if you can exercise and keep up with school I am impressed. I wish I could get back in the habit of exercising.

I managed to do Disc 21 today, since there'll be no time tomorrow. I did have to adjust my weights on the incline curls--they were about a pound too heavy.

Gotta go, busy day today, too.

yes magnolia, and about a gazillion leg presses! i hate leg presses.
anyway, i did plyo legs ,disc 26, yesterday and i am soo sore. i don't remember being this sore when i was doing the STS rotation.
today, i did the firm's power hal hour 2 times. that is really a tough workout.

my poor sis is at the ER right now. she has crohn's and colitis. she has been deathly sick for the last week. i am so worried about her. throwing up and diarrhea. it is such a horrible disease.

Magnolia I didn't even notice you left me out until the 2nd post. I got a laugh out of that- how did you notice missing a name when I didn't even see it.

I have been back to exercising almost a year now and had kept off the 8lbs I lost last Nov-Jan. I actually lost 10-11lbs but gained a little back.
After this week I'm afraid I gained almost all of it back. I won't weigh until Monday but then I will have to change the ticker if I'm going to be honest with myself.

hi ya'll. ya notice i don't even try to say everyone's name. :) cuz, i would definately forget someone. LOL!

did jiggle free arms today and then went and helped my mom take care of my sister's grandkids. she is in the hospital w/crohn's. has had a really bad episode this week. so, she is better today cuz they pumped her full of steroids, morphine, and antibiotics.

ya'll have a nice weekend.
 
Good afternoon,

Taking a break from house cleaning. Yesterday I did low max and cleaned dil and son's house and did their laundry. Today is my mother's room. I took everything out so I could vacuum under things. It was extremely dusty. I normally just vacuum down the middle. :eek: Even the windows are dirtier in her room because I don't go in as often. I can't believe I forgot to wear my GWF armband.
