50 and over week of May 23 check in

Congrats Magnolia !! I love LIC!! :D Good job!

Joan I am the same way. Being home all the time I don't put on my "out of the house" cloths a lot. That's when I notice my body changing. I seem to keep my same shape large or smaller. waist/hip ratio thing. I carry so much weight in my top half.... ahhhhhhh There has to be an answer!

Cathy have a good weekend.

Treadmill for me today also. I STILL have a cough left from my cold. I am really tired of it already!!

today was calorie killer w/naancy.:) love that workout. such a great one, and much harder than you think. been doing it for years and i still forget how hard it is.
well, g/kids tomorrow and sat, so no posting for a few days. have a great weekend!!!

joan, i usually do take a day off, but this week sat and sun will be off, and maybe monday, not sure. so, i'm trying to finish the may rotation. actually, i may take several days off. will probably have g/kids again on tues, & wed. so, we will see.

Hi ladies,

Today was the 2nd fraxel laser treatment. It hurt more while he was doing it. Power was 20% more and afterwards I thought it would hurt a lot more. It hurt pretty bad for a half an hour and then stopped. The last time it took longer to swell and get red. This time it seemed to do it all at once. It's all manageble. We will see how much I want him to raise power next time, but I do want it to work. The stronger the laser the better the results.

I just finished KellyCM floor work. It was a good lower body wo. I am already sore. I finished with 2 miles of Leslie.

Jann I hope that isn't one of the colds where the cough lingers. I hate that. Take care.

Good morning, Y'All!

I have been debating whether I should take a day off today. My allergies are so severe that very occasionally, I suffer from dizziness related to them. Today is one of those days. I know what to do, and certainly the dizziness is much better than it was early this morning, but I am a little cautious about even going for a walk with this going on. Better safe than sorry, so I think tomorrow would be a better choice.

Cathy, I agree. Calorie Killer is a great workout. I always liked Nancy.

Joan, hope the after effects of the laser treatment aren't too painful, and that you get the results you want.

Jann, take care of the cough. As you know sometimes after a cold, a cough can last for quite a while, but just make sure you're not getting a relapse.

Hi, Linda, Beth & Deb!

Have a great day.

Magnolia

Hey everyone!

I've been lurking but not posting because I am not really doing anything but walking and pilates. I am doing a very low calorie diet and only low impact stuff for one month. I have lost about 6 pounds. I know it is anti everything, but I just needed a radical approach because all of my efforts were not working-- My cortisol levels were too high.. and, I figure, after this month, I will eat more and exercise hard again and then it should work.. I'll keep you posted. In the meantime..

Magnolia, congrats on getting through LIC!!

Joan- your face and my hunger pains!! What we go through, huh?

Cathy- I don't know calorie killer

Jann- I laughed when I read about your "out of the house" clothes!! I live in my w/o clothes!! (they do stretch)

Ok here goes. I have decided to do the DNA inherent health testing. I sent in my DNA last week. I know, I know. It could be the latest of long lines of scams. I first saw it on the Dr. Oz show. The more I read about it the more it seem to be what I am looking for. A workout and diet program specific to my DNA. I am very excited about it. :D

www.inherenthealth.com in case you what to know.

Hi, Y'All.

Beth, just be careful and please stay well. I am still sort of on the South Beach Diet (I noticed yesterday that my jeans are a little loose, but I'm not weighing in case it's a dirty trick my bod is playing on me.) But it is on and off with all the traveling back and forth and so much unsettling going on. Like today, a dear friend of ours is in town, and I was compelled to make him his favorite tea cakes. Of course, I had to taste a couple to make sure they were good enough! ;)

Jann, keep us posted on how you are doing on that plan. I dunno, Dr. Oz has a good reputation and I doubt he would risk that by advertising some scam.

Anyhow, everyone stay well. Going to meet my friend in about an hour and get these tea cakes out of the house!

Good morning,

I am really getting on the band wagon for the Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle book. He doesn't want you to let the scale determine your actions. If you're are not losing weight but are losing body fat (pants are looser) all is good. If you are losing tons of weight but body fat is same or higher you are only losing muscle and that is terrible. My biggest mistake was thinking scale was staying the same so I was ok. I am planning to take full body pictures in exercise clothing on a regular basis to see changes. I can't see them looking in mirror.

One thing Tom Venuto says is that most any plan will work if you follow it but it's going to be HARD. I really want it to be easy.:D

Jann It doesn't hurt to try new plan. If we keep trying what didn't work in the past we are going to get the same results. In BFFM book they give you % to eat of protein, carb etc for different body types which sounds similar. Even after that he has you tweaking % if you are not getting the results you want.

Magnolia I'm glad you did your duty and tasted the tea cakes. You wouldn't have wanted to disappoint your friend.:D

Beth you're welcome anytime- even to lurk.

Yesterday was rest day. I was very busy and used almost as many calories as a wo day. Dil dropped Elliot off at 11:00am because she couldn't take her anymore. When we dropped her off at 7pm dil thought it would be good if she could have a break once in a while. Elliot agreed that it was a good idea because babys need so much care. We all laughed but I'm glad she didn't realize her mom needed a break from her.
The problem is they are both exactly alike. Very strong willed. I could always reason with my son when he was little. Elliot has very strong opinions and has arguments for them. I guess yesterday she wanted to wear a dress ( she always wants to wear a dress) and they were all dirty. That was ok with her, she then would just wear her underwear. Dil did have her in top and skirt when she dropped her off but they immediately came off. At least I was able to convince her she would have to wear clothes if she went outside. I don't sweat the small stuff- I didn't care if she stripped and I would probably make sure she had more dresses or I would wash more often.
