50 and over week of June 15 check in

hi ladies, well, disc 3, legs, made me VERY SORE this time around. can't figure that out. and then, like a dummy , i rode this am w/ my granddaughter and it was not comfy on the bottom. i was not this sore first time around. what is the deal?

Good Saturday to you all!

As it turned out, we stayed close to home this weekend so I've been able to do my workouts. Yesterday I did Disc #18. I'm feeling good with my back workouts, I think these are my favorite ones.

Today I did the Cardio Fusion premix #2, plus the medicine ball abs. (I wanted DH to do the partner abs with me, but he wasn't warmed up yet so I skipped that part.) I didn't mind because the humidity is through the roof and I was happy to be done! (I also have lost my voice today, fighting off whatever the kids have had for about a week or two.) I feel fine, but have barely any voice - I'm drinking some green tea, hopefully that'll help.

Tomorrow is our anniversary, thanks for the well wishes!! Can't believe it's been 12 years - I'm helping my sister plan her wedding coming in October and it's bringing alot of memories back!

Have a great evening everyone - I'm off to eat some supper and have a fun evening with the family. :D

Cathy, were your weights any heavier at all for that workout? I found that with some of my workouts, the first time I have only a little soreness, but maybe the next time, WOW! I never completely understand why, but I sometimes think that maybe there is a slight difference in my form from one time to the next.

I was not going to do my cardio Friday, because it was the choir director's 25th anniversary at our church, and I went over to help decorate for the party we gave her. As it turned out, though, I was asked to go pick up lunch and the corsage. The church is in a very pretty village & it was a beautiful day, so I walked to the florist and the pizza place. As it turned out, I probably got in a couple of miles. So I did get some cardio.

Hi Everyone!

Wow I've been out of the loop! You all have been busy. I hope all teeth problems are fixed by now. And 40 pounds on those squats Tricia! I don't even have a 40 yet in my collection, but that is great! I just finished meso one for the second go around. I did use alot heavier weights this time than my first time and there were times when doing legs that I couldn't believe I thought was too easy the first time. DUH!!! I just wan't using enough weight!!

Next week is the off week and I am going to a 4 day workshop to get my pilates certification. I am super excited!!

Oh, about cardio. Has anyone tried HIIT? I read about it here on the Cathe boards and thought I knew what it was- like intervals, until I actually tried it . I burned almost 300 calories in 20 minutes, but the best part is you continue to burn evern when done. I tried adding it on to the end of the upper body routines last week and it was great!!! Ayway think about it on those days where there is no time!! Happy DH and DD day!!

Beth I've always thought that pilates with the machines was one of the better ways to get long lean muscles but never had any luck with the dvd's. It would be great to know how to do it correctly. Do you think you increased strength after one time through sts or you just didn't use heavy enough 1st time?

Jann I can't see how you got blister with armband. Mine leaves a red suction mark. I think I may have it too tight but any looser and it falls off.

Cathy I wonder if legs hurt more because meso 1 is such a change from meso 3?

I'm glad we will soon be starting a new week. This week has been one of my summer "slowdown" weeks. I didn't do much but sit in a chair and read or watch tv. No ambition or desire to do anything. Today we went out for Father's Day with ds and dil and Elliot. I did disc 16, disc 18, and cardio fusion tonight. I am only behind disc 17 legs and 2 ab wo.
