50 and over week of July 3 check in

Boy, I'm glad last week is over. Tuesday I babysat for Luke while Elliot went to Zoo camp. I get to son's house and he is home from work. He had been drinking the night before and hadn't taken his antianxiety or depression medicine. He goes to AA but I think depression is out of control at the moment. He had suicidal thoughts which always worries me. He finally took medicine and was better.

Wednesday I forgot that they were putting in new airconditioner. I don't remember if I told you it broke week mil died. I was supposed to have cleaned out storage area because they had to get from furnace to outside with new pipe. I see the truck out front and start throwing all the stuff into my office. That didn't take too long but then I had to go to bank to transfer money from savings to checking. Afternoon was taking mother to therapy.

Thursday I needed to clean entire house because it was a mess and family was coming for the weekend. I did all the house except my office where I exercise. I didn't want to put junk back into storage until I had cleaned and sorted it. Thursday night I waited until 5pm to mow because it was still in 90's but cooler than earlier. I still ended up getting too much sun/heat. That always causes loose bowels for me. I know tmi. It lasted until yesterday. I could have had the colonoscopy Friday wihout any additional help.:D

Friday I took mother to therapy but was afraid bathroom was too far away. Fortunately it all worked out. Company came in from out of town to stay the weekend.

Saturday I ran to grocery store to get food to feed 15 people on Saturday and Sunday.

Monday I slept all day.

You might guess from that narrative that I did not catch up with any exercise last week. I thought I had lucked out and "only" had the gallon jug of laxative to take before colonoscopy on Friday. Last night I opened up the instructions from the doctor. Yes, I have the diet also. I had to run out to the store this morning because I had nothing to eat.

Jann the only thing about the diet I don't like is the way they count how many pounds you lost. From the time I started the diet until I stopped I lost 5lbs. They don't count it that way. They start after you have the eating days. I was up 10lbs after that so they said I had lost 15lb.

Hi, Y'All!

Joan, I am so sorry to hear about your son. I have depression myself, and I know how it can make you feel. I am very lucky that I do not have to take medication for it, mine is not so bad. But there are those mornings when I wake up thinking that it's just one day closer to the end of my life. It can be really tough. I try to manage mine with enough sleep, cutting sugar and working out, and I know that I am very fortunate to be able to do that. I'll add your son to my prayer list for sure.

Jann, I hope you are doing a lot better.

I have had kind of a funky week myself so far. I did Disc 4 on Sunday afternoon. I still had to do push ups on my knees, but I did them all. I also wasn't quite as tired this time.

Yesterday, we went to a party at mil's apartment in NYC. She lives on W. 43rd, on the Hudson River right where they have the fireworks for July 4. She also has a really nice wrap-around balcony, and the fireworks are right there. It was a nice party, but dh knew the parking was going to be very tricky, so we took the LI Railroad to Penn Station, and walked to her apartment. I guess it was about 2 - 3 miles. When the party was over, we walked back to the train station and got home about 1:30 this morning. I did not sleep very well--for some weird reason, no matter what time I go to bed,
I'm up at 8! I think I am taking a rest day today!!

Hope you all had a great 4th!

Omgosh Joan, you had a c-r-a-z-y week!! What day is you colonoscopy? Thanks for the info on the diet.

Magnolia, NYC for fireworks sounds like fun. We were asleep by 10:00. We didn't even watch any on TV this year. Real party animals here.

I don't remember when I last checked in. I did disc 19 yesterday. Today I worked outside. That's enough carido for me. Tomorrow is disc 20 one my favorites!!

I have not heard back from the doctor yet about my tests. I guess tomorrow.

Hi, Y'All!

I just finished Disc 5 (31 more to go?) I used the turbo tower for the first time today. It certainly makes pull ups and chin ups more meaningful than that bar between two chairs I was using!!

Take care, everyone, and have a great evening.

Magnolia

Suppose to rain tomorrow so I finished up what I needed to get done today... disc 20 on tap for tomorrow.

I raked stones -- sweaty, sweaty, sweaty!! :D

Hi, Y'All!

I just did Basic Step, followed by Stability Ball Abs (on the same dvd) and finished with 1 segment of Total Body Stretching. I weighed this morning and I have lost about 1 lb. I'll take it, at least I didn't gain.

Hope everyone is well. Have a great evening.

I just realized I didn't check in today.

Disc 20 -- I really like this workout. It is the BEST leg workout of the series. The combo's always hit the right spots.

Hi, Y'All!

I just finished Disc 6 Legs. I thought it was a little weird that I had to modify a few of the moves, but I could do several of the bonuses.

Have a great evening, everyone!

Jann have you heard from the doctor yet?

I used this colonoscopy diet this week as an excuse not to do anything. I know it's not a good reason. Today was the colonoscopy. Good news only 1 medium polyp and will only have to have colonoscopy again in either 5 or 10 years depending upon what kind polyp was. Bad news I started choking and they shoved a tube down my throat. Boy is my throat sore and it's hard to swallow. My jaw is also sore and will probably bruise. The other bad news is they couldn't check on the Crohn's area because it was completely blocked. How can it be blocked if everything can come out?

They will be talking to another doctor at a different hospital to see if I need a biopsy. They will possibly want to take out the area that is blocked. Since I have no symptoms and felt fine (at least before this test) I can't see the point. I guess I will wait and see.

Joan -- Sometimes we just have to go with what our bodies need. If rest is it, then let it be. Oh -- I am so sorry about the choking. {{{Joan}}} I don't know anything about Crohn's. I'll have to do a search.

I got results from my tests yesterday afternoon. Everything was negative that he tested for. All my blood levels are with in normal range. This is the good news. He wants me to see a specialist about my blood. He believes it is something in my blood that is causing the bruises. (I was hoping I was just low on iron) So that's the next step. I seem to be have more energy since I started taking B100's tablets. So as long as I can get through a day with out a nap -- it's a good day. :)

Today's workout is disc 21. One more week of Meso 2. Anyone going onto Meso 3?
