50 and over week of July 26 check in

Hi Magnolia, Jann, Cathy, Tricia, and Beth,

I think because I had not lifted in 2 years I have been able to see results without going that heavy. I hope I get the rack before the next round of STS. Also for the pullups. I made it to the gym twice to do pullups but then just skipped it.

The big question is what do we do next? I think I need more cardio to lose weight. I start babysitting full time Aug 12.

Jann Glad to see you got wo in. If I hadn't done LIC last night after disc 31, I wouldn't have anything to report. I didn't even get Leslie's 1mile in.
I thought it would be so easy to get second cardio in because it was only a mile or 2 but I keep putting it off.

Magnolia If I could make a happy dance , I would for you getting right back to wo. I might have been tempted to sleep in all week to make up for your long weekend.

Tricia At least since we're almost at the end you can make up any missed during the rest week.

I haven't done this weeks plyo legs yet. I think so far they were a much better choice for my knees than lifting heavier. I was surprised by that. I have only done some relatively minor adjustments.

I want to mow our yard and our neighbors tomorrow so that may be the wo.

Joan

Joan did you order the Power Tower? I agree I think having a rack has made STS a lot easier to do. :)

Tricia do I need to bring a shredder over to help with that paper work?? ;) I hate it when life gets in my way of my workouts. :p

I did a quick 2 mile walk/jog on the treadmill. Now, I am off to do housework. I've been a bit lazy this week. I got sucked into reading the Twilight series. I finished the 4th book yesterday. Back to the real world. :D

Hi, Y'all.

I did Push Circuit 2 of CLX today. I am beginning to see a little definition, especially in my arms. I noticed it last week--I had gotten a minor burn while cooking, and when I was stopping the burn, I noticed I had a bicep in that arm.
My weight has neither gone up nor down, but I'm working on that.

Joan, I wish I could have slept all week, but I have this forum to keep me motivated, and I knew I had a real plan, so I couldn't skip my workouts. I always do, however, give myself one "jet lag day" to get over a trip (even the ones by car).

Hi, Jann, Beth, Tricia & Cathy!

Have a great evening, everyone!

Magnolia

Good evening,

I ordered the Power Tower and the cardio. I realized that even though I modify the cardio so it is unrecognizable as Cathe's , it is more than I would do on my own. It is nice to own so many different dvd's. I thought when I got the whole set that there were many I would never do. I only have six boxes left to open.

I had Elliot most of the day and now don't feel like doing anything.

After STS what do you think of my doing cardio MTThF and a circuit on W with Sat off and 3 discs of meso three on Sunday? Or having Wed and Sat off? For me it's getting started on the lifting more than not having the time. At least when it's not tax season. I have never been tired after lifting (so I know it's not heavy enough) and for the most part have not had doms in months.(except for butt after plyo legs) I thought this might keep strength while allowing more cardio for weight loss. I will up weight with next round of STS.

I didn't even get the yards mowed.

Hi Everyone!

Good job on staying on track, Magnolia!! I need to get my plan back in order because without those 3 days a week of weights, I loose my focus.

So, Joan, what next? I am hoping the cardio set comes out soon. Although I plan on continuing rotation of sts. I almost don't even want to go back to the combination workouts becasue I don't get the same results. I also enjoy the breaks in between, the cycles, but then after about a week, my body craves the feeling it gets with the sts.

Jann, did you buy the tower? I couldn't tell if you did or just wanted it.

The thing that is still aggrevating to me is that even though I am so much stronger, I still cannot do push-ups, or anything related to the boot camp drop squat push-up stuff. I think its becasue of my hands, they hurt in that position. Well- Good night!!

Morning - I didn't order the power tower I have a weight rack that I can do pull ups on and it has a place to hang a bag (when needed ;))

After STS strength I feel my body needs to get more cardio workouts in. I would like to lose some weight so I will be adding circuit workouts along with 1 strength workout mixed with cardio should help. This is a beginner / immediate rotation at best.

Hi, Y'all!

Decided to take a rest day due to too many things to do! Tomorrow morning, I will do Push Circuit 3.

I am wondering whether I want to do Lean Phase after I finish the Push Phase or move on to something different. I have been doing CLX since March, and I am sensing a need for something different. Maybe a month of just mixing up Cathe workouts (like you, I have quite a few!), then starting STS? I'm thinking about it, anyway.

I hope you all have a great weekend.

Magnolia

Good Morning!
Did any of you catch the web casts live from the RT? I watched last night and this morning.. nerd.
Cathe's new 12-20 pound vest sounds interesting and her 2 pound micro fill gloves. The mat didn't interest me or the regular fitness gloves. I am going to check out her weight lifting gloves though. Last years dose not have enough padding for me. :)

Hi, Everyone.

Jann, how does one get to see the webcasts? I went to Cathe TV and could only get highlights from last year's RT. It would be cool to see what the classes look like, especially now that STS is out.

Push Circuit 3 today. I'll miss the short w/o's when they're over.

Hi, there, Joan, Beth, Tricia & Cathy. Have a great weekend.

Magnolia

I watched the one at 10:15 this morning it was the Kickboxing, cardio one. It looked tough! Last nights was the stepping one. I missed the q&A with Chris.... couldn't get it to play on the BB. :(

whew!, busy 2 days. had the grandkids yesterday, rode horses all friday morning. so, no work out yesterday. today i did disc 18, and a 30 m firm cardio. then helped give a bridal shower this afternoon. just got home and i am wore out!!!! gonna chill the rest of the day, i think. ya'll have a great rest of the weekend.

Hi ladies,

I'm sorry I didn't see any of the roadtrip. I caught whatever Elliot had and have felt terrible. Besides some sniffles and a cough it is more complete exhaustion. It feels like my body is fighting off something. No wo Friday or today. Last night was our 38th anniversary. I wasn't hungry so I suggested an Italian restaurant that dh likes but I don't very much.

I don't think I will go to my reunion next weekend. I did a good job of organizing it. One third of the class is coming. About 10% of the classmates have died. Of those who have died 1/3 were suicides. That seems like a lot. Of course there were only 111 in the graduating class with 11 dead, that is 3 suicides, a car accident, cancer and 6 heart attacks.

I will try to have a productive day tomorrow.

Hello, everyone - I'm back online, woohoo!

Well, I finished the paperwork Thursday (Thanks, Jann for the shredding idea, I seriously considered it at one point!!). So, Friday DH had to have outpatient surgery for two hernia's. We took him over at noon, then went to get some lunch and I brought the kids home for a quick nap attempt (unsuccessful, but I did try!). Fielded some family phone calls to see if I'd heard anything, then around 4 headed back to the hospital (with all three kids!). My MIL usually can help with stuff like this, but she couldn't that day, so it was a juggling act for sure. But the kids were very well behaved when we got back to the hospital. We got to leave there around 7, headed to the pharmacy for pain meds and had everyone in bed by 9:30. So this weekend I've been on nurse detail and haven't worked out. My energy is low, surely due in part to the lack of workouts along with the other stuff!

So, my revised workout schedule for the remainder of STS is to start on week 3, Tuesdays workout, and finish out from there. Puts me finishing around the 12th or 13th. That's pretty good, because I'll do light cardio until the 20th, when we fly out for my sister's bridal shower. When I get back on the 23rd, I'll schedule my prewedding rotation.

I haven't been able to do much research regarding the Abs Diet yet, I've been staying away from the computer as you could probably tell. Oh, DH is doing well, BTW, just has a very sore stomach. We'll be taking good care of him while he recuperates!

Have a peaceful Sunday,
