Hi everyone,

Magnolia have a great vacation.

Sorry for missing check in. I ended up with 2 rest days. Yesterday I did Drill Max premix 3. Today I need to get legs in(disc 3) and the ab circuit to catch up for week.

I'll check in later with wo.

No workout for me today. Doing a lot of family stuff.

Jann, I am sorry to hear about your wound. I missed the part about what you are recovering from, but my prayers are with you. I think you are pretty tough to be working out with that going on.

Joan, how is the STS? I finished the end of week three yesterday with the disc 9 legs. I literally had trouble sloeeping last night because my legs were so sore- WOW!! Took today off and it felt great. Tomorrow is disc 10 biceps, chest and shoulders and a treadmill.

I found a Joe Weider weighted vest on sale at Kmart so I bought it and tried it on the treadmills. It was a good workout but the weight of the vest throws off the balance and I almost fell a couple of times-- and I am too embarrassed to wear it around the neighborhood for a walk- so I am thinking of a low impact step w/o with it..

Jann what were the gifts at the shower? I hope no one got q or z.

I just finished disc 3.

Beth I couldn't use vest on treadmill. I had 20lb vest and it hurt my back. They suggested that I not use more than 10lb for treadmill. And to start with 2.5lb at a time. I can't decide if sts is working or not. It's difficult when I do the disc but I'm not that sore afterwards. Maybe that's because I'm just doing first week again.

Beth Here’s the short version - ;) - I had a polyp in my colon that had cancer cells. So they had to remove part of my colon. The incision got infected and they had to reopen it. That lead to 2 ½ months of having it packed 2x’s a day. After 2 ½ months it was small enough I could do it myself. The surgery was in Oct and I am still dealing with it. Seems like for ever. :(

Joan DIL to be, got a lot of very nice things and some very creative things also. Like the letter “J” – they are going to Jamaica on their honeymoon; the gal gave them a large canvas bag filled with beach stuff, towels, lotion, flip-flops, etc. “B” bed sheets, “M” movie tickets, “Z” was a good one. She got z stemmed glasses. “Q” I believe was a Quart casserole dishes. “F” was another good one her aunt’s gave her a basket filled with supplies to make a French Apple Pie, sugar, raisins, a dough utensil, rolling pin…etc. It was a good time. :)

I have a weight belt I like for the treadmill. It’s much easier for balance and my back. It’s an adjustable 10 pound one. I have Cathe’s 10 pound vest. I have only worn it a couple of times with lower body work. When I get to STS I will probably get more use from it!

Another day on the treadmill for me. :)

Jann it looks like everyone had more imagination than I do. Presents sound great.

Official weigh in- 162lbs That's 1lb in last two weeks. It's a total of 11lbs.:D I think I may be eating a little more. I didn't expect a loss, but with sts I may be able to eat more. I know I've been hungry a lot.

Hi Ladies!

Jann- I am so sorry that happened to you, but thank God they found it and could do something about it. What a miserable thing to have to deal with though. Are the stitches holding now? Do you think that the exercise is too traumatic for the site to heal? I mean, treadmill seems ok but anything strenuous might cause the stitches to give. What a good attitude you have. I will continue to send upsome prayers for your recovery.

Joan- I felt that way at first and then, I adjusted the weights so I had to really push it- It has really been wiping me out though- I have been starving and so sore at night- but, I have also continued to work out with my trainer that I share twice a week with my friend. We do a whole body workout with more compund moves so I don't think it competes or interferes with the focus of the STS- the one thing I haven't done alot of is cardio-- Everytime I try I find myself exhausted- but I figure this is the last week until rest week and I will push it on rest week..

Beth I don't have any stitches. They removed them when I got the infection. I am waiting on everything to go back together naturally. Part of the reason it takes so long. Thanks for the prayers. :) Sounds like STS is going to be a challenge! I can't wait. It's hard to sit on the sidelines and read about all the comments.

I find strength workouts are so much easier for me to do than cardio. Seems cardio is more work. :confused:

Joan you are doing so well with your diet. Congrats!! :D
 
Good evening everyone,

I didn't get wo in yesterday but did just finish disc 4. I don't see how I can increase weight on most of them I can barely do all reps and some I miss 1 or 2 reps. I guess that means that's the right weight for now.

From what I am reading STS is tough - :eek: Joan it seems you are right there with everyone else.

So are the rest of ya's hiding waiting for spring?? ;)

This is my one week mark of no weights!! I can feel my energy draining from me. I know that sounds crazy, I just have more energy when I am lifting. :confused: Maybe I should not say energy I should say enthusiasm.

Hi everyone,

Jann I feel the same way about lifting giving you energy. It always seems like I don't want to get started but am ok once the dvd starts.

I feel like I've abandoned everyone. I only have time right now to eat sleep and work. Even when I take time to post I'm so tired I only get a few lines in.

I had the bone density test done today. I thought I would take my mother out to lunch when I got back but then the car wouldn't start. I guess I'm lucky it died in my driveway and not at the doctor's office.

I'm going to bed I'm too tired to work late tonight.

Hi Joan. It's ok, things will go back to normal. The workouts will still be there. I hope your car is all right. Check in when you can.

I'll be jumping on the treadmill today.
 
Hi Girls!

Well I haven't been hiding- just EXHAUSTED but obsessed with working out nevertheless.

Jann- I guess the CTX fluctuates as well in workouts? next week I get no weights- I am looking forward to it. I am so sore right now- I would love a massage but hubby's out of town (he's my back rubber) might have to settle for epsom salts:D

Joan- i know how you feel- It seems likewhen you are the most fatigued- eveything breaks down. As far as the poundage- just do whatever you can do. The gloves added 2 pounds and I increased like that but there are some things I can not yet do-
But..... and hears the good news, People are starting to notice my arms getting cut- two people have commented!!!

Beth I'm glad sts is working.

No wo today.

Good news the starter was bad and still under warranty because I had replaced it. Bad news I need to replace the motor. They don't have estimate yet but it will be about $6500. I guess I won't have a car for awhile.
