Starting just a little early in case I don't get up in the morning. The party was great. We had a dusting of snow yesterday that was on the grass not the road. It was cold but not icy like some years. Of course I sampled too much. I don't eat much during the party- just before and after.

Hi, Y'All!

I hope you are all safe and warm. We're okay here, but there's about two feet of snow in our yard. It was quite a mess here this morning, it's just good that this happened when most people didn't have to get out to go to work. Things have calmed down now, it's really cold, though.

Had a lot to do today, so no workout. But "tomorrow is another day." Have a great evening.

Hi all!
We got ourselves dug out too! The sun really melted things this afternoon!
I count shoveling snow as my workout! :D

Hi, Y'All!

Actually, I think shoveling snow is definitely a workout.

I guess they are sending my Shock Cardio DVDs by UPS (maybe I thought there was a choice this time), because I got an email, too. Mine's coming Tuesday. (I ordered kinda late). Lately, there's been a choice. Anyway, they'll be here before the Christmas Part 2 trip, so that's all I care about.

Stay warm & safe, y'all.

Magnolia

Morning!
Magnolia I think there was a choice. I didn't see it. I am not going to blame this on my eye site either - :p Where are you going for your part 2 trip?

My back and shoulders are hurting me a bit today. Darn, darn, darn snow. Giving myself a break -- darn old body! :D

Good morning!

Jann, we're going home to Atlanta to see my son, grandson & dil & take them their Christmas presents. I'm excited. I haven't seen my DS since he got back from Baghdad last March. We were in Atlanta in June, but he was at Ft. Hood the whole time we were there. He's stationed at Ft. Benning, GA, now, and is taking leave the week after Christmas so we can all spend time together.

I have had a few DVDs sent by USPS. It's cheaper and they have gotten here in about the same amount of time. I have been taking that option lately, but it's been a while since I ordered these, so I probably forgot.

I may try to cram in a short workout, but I have a lot of housework to do, so not sure. Check back later.

Everyone stay warm, safe and well. Have a great day.

Good Morning everyone,

I did Cathe's Kick Max this morning....all 73 minutes of it. What a great workout and I burned 499 calories. Great way to start the week.

I also received my Shock Cardio DVDs this morning. I am really impressed with UPS....they made the delivery with such bad snowy weather conditions and on time. Guess what I'll be doing this week.

We're still digging out of the snow. Didn't get to visit my Mom yesterday and hoping another storm does not develop during Christmas day (that's the prediction I'm hearing on TV)....we plan to visit her that day. Then we are off to Williamsburg, VA to visit my daughter and her husband the next day.

Magnolia - I know it will be great so see your son and his family. I come from a military family (my dad was an Air Force Pilot and my husband was a Naval Aviation Maintenance Officer) and both had spent their time in war. It's very precious to have them home safe and sound. I hope you have a wonderful visit and stay safe on the roads.

Hi, Y'All!

Linda, thanks for the good wishes. I hope the weather doesn't interfere with any more of your holiday plans and that you get to be with all of your family and loved ones. We'll be driving through there along about Sunday, so I am also hoping there isn't any more snow or yucky weather.

I love Kick Max. I think it's one of my favorite Cathe workouts. I did one of Joan's favorites today--"Housework Max." Looks like that's the one I will be doing tomorrow, too. I'm exhausted!

Have a great evening, Ladies!

Hi ladies,

I've been down in the dumps all day because I thought I had gained so much weight. My scale is goofy. I have to start it at 4lbs under 0 and add 5lbs to the total to get the actual weight. If I put it on 0 it weighs you a different amount each time. I weighed in today at 171 (with the 5lbs) and that is only 2 lbs less than this time last year. I'm back to taking my mother to radiation so I weighed on the scale there and it agreed with my scale without the extra 5lbs. Someone must have adjusted my scale to 0. I need to go back in and change the signature line. I know I haven't been doing enough to lose weight but a 5lb gain in a week was scary.

My sts delivery isn't until Wed.

I think I'll look back at wo manager calendar and see what I was doing when I was losing weight. I think I was walking for two hours every night.

Good morning, Everyone!

I read an interesting little article yesterday. The upshot of it was that not getting enough sleep can lead to over eating, because your body will make you think you're hungry when you aren't. I know I do not get enough sleep this time of year--too much to do. That's not an excuse, but I am going to try getting to bed on time these next days, especially.

i have more house work to do today, plus grocery shopping (I hate grocery shopping, but what are you going to do?) Anyway, that's my day. Looking forward to the arrival of Shock Cardio, probably this afternoon.

Have a great day, my friends!

Good morning everyone,

Today I did Shock Cardio - Circuit Blast. I needed to modify quite a bit....I don't do a lot of jumping to protect my knees and calfs...but when I do jump I always have one foot on the ground (13 years ago I tore my soleus muscle in a ballet rehearsal and it took me a year to fully recover....sad thing was I was just skipping in a circle arm and arm with a partner at the time and not doing anything complicated and the next thing I knew I was down.) Anyway....I'm very protective of my calf muscles and always modify when needed and concentrate on good form.

Joan - I hear you regarding gaining weight already lost. It seems I can gain 5 lbs in one month but it takes me 5 months to lose the 5 lbs. Just doesn't seem right. It's very discouraging at times.

Magnolia - I heard about not getting enough sleep leads to over eating. When I was working full time (and had a commute that was 1.5 hours one way) I averaged about 5-6 hours a sleep a night. I gained 25 lbs in 3 years. I lost the weight 1.5 years ago before I retired from the job last February through exercise and dieting. I now get about 8-9 hours of sleep a night (which my body needs) and feel wide awake. My thinking (at least for me) the longer I sleep the less time I have to over eat. :D

hey all, sorry to be absent. busy, as ya'll are, i'm sure. i am doing CTX this week. bought the dvd from a fellow catheite. did 10-10-10 today, i really like that one. great workout. yesterday was all-step, i think, and tomorrow is probably power circuit. looks really hard.

other than that, just trying to get ready for Christmas.

jann, i hear that shoveling snow is an incredible calorie burner. don't have to worry about that down here. it is gonna be about 70 tomorrow. but, gettin' cold tomorrow nite.

Good evening,

I just finished 3 1/2 miles on treadmill. I'm still busy with work. I want to finish everything before vacation on the 29th.

I can't believe all the snow everyone is having. We have flood warnings out because of the rain we are supposed to get. Maybe snow dusting for Christmas.

Joan

Good Morning,

I did the Shock Cardio Step Moves. I am step challenged so I had difficulty with the choreography. I was using the FIRMs Transformer step and found that I kept flipping it and because I was concerned I might trip and hurt myself I couldn't focus on the steps. I eventually moved the step aside and tried to learn the choreography. It will take me several tries to get the steps down, but once I do this will be a very fun workout. I will be receiving the Original Health Club Step from my husband for Christmas....it seems like it will be more grounded.

Hope you all of a great day!

Good morning, everyone!

Cathy, you are making me jealous. Our back door is snowed shut still. It is slowly melting, so I guess it's a white Christmas for us already.

Linda, I invested in the full-size step this past year, and it is a whole lot better than the Transfirmer. With new step workouts, I always do the workout a few times without the step so I can get the moves down before I throw in the complication of using the step. I think it's a lot safer that way.

Another busy day. I think I'm looking forward to HiiT . The idea of shorter workouts and interval work appeals to me a lot.

Well, lots to do so I had better get busy. Have a great Christmas Eve Eve, everyone!

Magnolia

Hi Ladies! So sorry to be so "AWOL".....finished my Criminal Law Class on the 7th with a 98%. YEAH!!! And just trying to get ready for Christmas along with 3 birthdays this month. Right now I am hurrying so I can get in the shower.

Received my STS Cardio yesterday.....looks HARD!!! Oh well, there is always modification. I am finishing up my last week of STS next week (I missed a few workouts) and hope to start just plain ole cardio the first week of January. And of course, you are all going to hate me for this....but I am the only one I know that loses weight during Christmas. I think it is because I have to cook so much, I just don't want to eat. Go Figure!

Everyone Have a very Merry Christmas!!!!
Deb

so linda, you have STS cardio? i am trying to cancel my order, cuz i just don't think my feet are gonna be able to take these hard workouts. i have done CTX the last 3 days and my feet are killing me. gonna have to do something else tomorrow. just got tracies' new workouts, so i'm gonna do one of those tomrrow. love tracie.
well, we most certainly don't have to worry about snow here. LOL! was really warm today. but, a cold front is coming in and it is gonna get colder.

Good morning, Y'All.

Deb, congrats on the 98! ;) Good to hear from you. I finished my theology course about 3 weeks ago with a 97.5 average. I am taking a semester off to get my house & life a little better organized.

Cathy, I'll have to check out Tracie's new workouts. I always liked her, too.

Merry Christmas to all of you!

Good morning everyone,

I had a horrible headache last night (migraine) and woke up feeling slightly nauseous this morning. I'm hoping the tums will help.

I did MMA: Fusion this morning. Had to do major modification for combo #2...removed all jumping and modified getting out of a roll. Modfiying movements do not bother me...comes naturally (used to take modern dance and stopped when I was 45...just couldn't drop to the floor and get up in 4 counts without hurting my knees...learned to modify dance movements as I got older). I apply the same tactic with exercise. Since this is a cardio workout I just keep moving.

Cathy - I understand about having problems with feet. I don't jog and won't because of feet problems.

Deb and Magnolia - congrats on the high grades for your classes! Great accomplishment!

Hope you all of a great day.

Hi ladies,

Deb welcome back. Great grade but I may have to kill you for losing weight now.:p Last year I held my own over Christmas and lost a little in the weeks before and after but nothing major.

I use the transfirmer step too, if I use a step at all. I would only use one at a time not stacked. I got the shock cardio after 7:00pm last night. I watched cardio core and was tired. I hate the music. I think about half of the exercises will have to be modified. Linda when you look at it would you repeat some of the other combo's or add something of your own?

We're off to put together a kitchen for Elliot. It is supposed to take 3-4 hours. Dil wants it ready for Christmas morning. Then it is pie and cake baking.

Cathy if you can't cancel I bet you can sell the dvd's and maybe even make money since we got such a discount. I would keep the travel dvd.

Hi to Magnolia and Jann.

I hope everyone has a great Christmas.
