50 and Over : ~~ Too dark for Tuesday~~

Good Morning!

I don't know if I like this delay in moving the clocks back..it is so dark... Today I did a 20 minute I-Tread and then the shoulder, calves, core work from the new DVD's. I like using the Mix & Match function because it stops after each section and goes back to the listing so you can pick the next excercise. This is a nice break to drink water, write down the weights you used etc. The core work in this one is pretty different and interesting. I have a hard time with the lying side oblique work.. can anyone actually do those double leg raises?x(

Todays Menu:
Post Workout: Protein drink with water/ice
B- Cheerios with strawberries & skim milk
s: L/F Yogurt
L: Ham on WW, grapes, skim milk
S: apple & stringster
D: leftover Hunan Chicken
S: Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich

Linny:
smoking a cigarette?? I have had them come up with no costume on, just wanting the candyx( . I give them a candy bar, then I know it's time to turn the lights off! Isn't it always the way with either the food or the excercise? does your DD do any type of excercise?

Josie:
Let us know what you think of the new workouts.

Garance:
Welcome Back! You must be thrilled about your Red Sox!:7. Your trip sounds great, except for the fall;( . We have an author in our midst! I hope your knee is ok. What is the name of your book? Oh no! please don;t tell me that there are issues with this series of workouts! With what Cathe went through with the last one! I have not done the step sections enough to notice anything off on mine. ( probably never will;-) )

Jen:
Please check in and let us know how you are doing.

Have a great day!
Deb:)

Good Morning Deb and those to follow: Just a quick hello. Busy day today seeing patients. Glad you had a safe trip Garance. Deb: I'll write down menu tonight.Hi Jen,Josie and Nancy.~Linnyy~

Happy Tuesday, All,

Yesterday was the day from hell at work. It was day 1 of 2 layoff days. We started hearing about people on other floors who got the boot, then they got to our floor. I'm still on half-days, and they got to the business department (right next door to me) just before I left. 2 people in that department were laid off, one of whom was a good friend. I left, feeling mighty nervous, and called my supervisor late that afternoon. She said Human Resources had to stop the layoffs and deal with the disgruntled people who had accepted the buyout offer (it wasn't that great, but a good deal for people 65 and over who can get on Medicare). Last week, everyone who applied was told they would most likely get the buyout, but yesterday a lot of them were told they were too valuable to the company and couldn't leave after all. Lots of them were quite vocal, so the majority of layoffs was postponed until today. Today is my day off, so I don't want to hear the phone ring!

Tomorrow, I'm having outpatient surgery on my trigger thumb. It's frozen in one position, and I'm having a hard time doing weight workouts, opening car doors, opening lids, etc., so it's time. The doctor says I should be fine for working this weekend. I probably won't be able to type well enough to post here for a few days, though.

Next week, I see the workers' comp doctor and hope to be released. I can't wait to get my back and thumb healed, and get back to working out with you guys!

Hope everyone has a great Halloween,
Jen

Good Morning All,

I ended up doing a 40 minute express workout here at work yesterday.
It was a circuit training program that just started. It was very good. I'm glad that I went, otherwise I would have not worked out at all. My DD schedule keep changing.

I will be running this evening 5.5 miles.

Have a great day!

Josie

Jen: Good luck with thumb surgery. Ihope you don't get laid off.It would just add injury to insult.(If you know what I mean).Did you ever calculate the benefits you would get if you were laid off?
Josie: Wow! I wish I had your energy. Today I didn't get home till 6:30, what a day. Thankfully I have been working with a great nurse or I'd be working till midnite.
Garance: Glad you're home safe and sound. Sorry to hear of your fall, heal soon. I'd like to hear about your book too.
Deb:Sounds like you are enjoying new dvds. You are making me jealous because I didn't order this time. I may have to order those new Amy Bento dvds, or Kelly Coffey.
