Good Morning and Happy Weekend to all:

Today is a rest day so no workout. DH and I will be going to a play tonight that is a tribute to Hank Williams. I am not a big fan of country music, but these are usually pretty good. I liked the one about Patsy Cline and I had never heard of her before! We usually get take out Chinese afterwards, but we had that already this week so I am not sure what we will do afterwards for dinner.

Todays Menu:
Protein drink w/water
B: scrambled eggs with sweet peppers& onions, rye toast
S: none
L: Not sure yet
S: not sure

It looks like it is you and me again for the weekend! Everyone else seems to disappear.;( . That Absolute Kickboxing still intrigues me. Do you have a light body bar that you use? Is the kickboxing high impact? I have never seen that movie.. I think I can answer your question on what to take when flying.. to be safe, put all cosmetics in a checked bag and only carry lipstick with you in your purse or carry-on. I have had nail polish and a very expensive hair product taken away when I accidentally left them in my carry on. You can take pills as long as they are prescription. I wouldn't take vitamins/supplements in a carry on because that will only red flag them to start asking a lot of questions etc. Your garden sounds wonderful!

Have a good day.. I'll be back tomorrow to see who has checked in!

Deb;-)

Hi Deb and any later posters--

Thanks for the info on cosmetics, etc. The problem is that I don't want to check a bag at all. I just want a carry-on bag and a quart-size ziplock bag with my cosmetics. I'm just not sure what needs to be shown and what I could conceivably pack in the carry-on. Do I have to show them an eyeliner or mascara? Is it okay to pack in a carry-on OTC drugs like Zantac and Advil? I guess I will have to google it somewhere.

The Absolute Kickboxing DVD by Spreen has a few impact moves--e.g., an occasional jumping jack, but it is mostly low impact. I use my 10 pound old Firm barbell without any plates, and that is probably too heavy--she recommends 9 lbs or less. But I don't do some of the tossing moves with the barbell. You could also use a dowel, but I rather like the weighted bar because it gives my shoulders a workout, and of all my body parts, my shoulders are my favorite and I like to show them off.

Today is my day off, so I just cleaned house.

The Red Sox clinched their division last night when the Yankees lost. Yippee!!

I'll be back tomorrow. Don't know yet what I will do. Enjoy your play, Deb!

Hi Garance & all that drop in:

Garance:

Just got back from a pedicure and wax apt. I bought my first toe ring! :7

Can you give me a brief description & length of the pre-mixes on the Absolute Kickboxing DVD? I went to Collage and they are not very specific, although they do say that there are pre-mixes.. I really like to keep a workout ( especially cardio) under an hour.

Regarding the airplane, I think all liquids have to be under 2 oz in order to carry them on, and have to be in a quart size plastic bag. Mascara & lipstick don;t count anymore. They are looking at shampoo, and other aerosol things. All these have to be checked if over 2oz. It is probably good to go to the TSA website to see the actual regulations before you fly. I have also had different things go through at one airport, only to have them confiscated at another! Definitely Regan National ( DC)is the toughest on what you bring on.

Back later or tomorrow!

Deb :)

Happy Sunday!

Today I did P90X Chest & Back and the Ab Ripper section from 10 Minute Ab Solution. 278 calories total.

Hi Deb--

I did all of Muscle Max this morning (69 min.). Beautiful here as well.

On the Absolute Kickboxing, there are several possibilities. The whole workout (which I have never done and probably won't) is 93.75 min: Warm-up (6.5), Kickbox (34), Combat (27.25), Cool-Down (5), Weighted Core/Abs (13), Stretch (8). You can do the Warm-up, Kickbox OR Combat, cool-down, core, and stretch. Both of these come under 60 min. My favorite is to do the alternating Kickbox and Combat Intervals with a warm-up and cool-down, which comes under 70 min. but includes all of the cardio. Hope this helps.

Boy, do we have a crop of butternut squash. I am going to make a squash soup this week, but that uses a total of 1 squash, and we have about 25. Yikes! There's also a recipe where you cut them up in chunks, toss with olive oil, cumin, chili powder, and cilantro and bake for about 45 min. at 375 degrees. And I have another squash soup recipe after that with a cider cream swirl-in. Any other suggestions??? I made a risotto a couple years ago, but my DH and DS were not nearly as fond of it as I was.

Back to work here, then out to dinner with MIL and FIL. We shall come bearing squash gifts.

Enjoy the waning hours of a beautiful weekend, Deb!

Hi Ladies:
Deb: I'd love to get a pedicure somedday. I just am a little in embarrased because the bottom of my heels are like aligator skin. Its from all the years of Cathe. I bet that toe ring looks mighty sexy;) I didn't do to well in the eating this weekend. Hubby and I went to fair on friday nite and had blooming onion and the fried dough, at least we shared it to cut down on the calories.
Garance: I bet you could throw together a yummy lasagna squash. We had a garden last year but we were never home to take care of it so this year we didn't.
We went apple picking today with my 3 kids and 2 granddaughters. Ended up being the day from hell. Couldn't find my husband in ochard and when we finally find him, of course he was in a pissy mood.So my oldest started yelling at him and he yelling back.I thought for sure I was going to have to step in. Lots of swearing back and forth and my granddaughters were crying. Men can be so in senitive at times.
Its pretty bad when you have to say I'm so glad the weekends over.
I will check in tomorrow. Have a great nite ladies~Linny~
