50 and Over: ~~Fitness Friday~~

Good Morning all:

Today was cardio so back to the I-Tread workout- 35 minutes. I messed up the MP3 player today so at the 20 minute mark, the darn thing started over!x( . I just let it go and stayed on for 15 more minutes.. remember how I left dinner up to DH yesterday? well when I got home from work he had bought BBQ'd ribs and baked beans from the deli... delicious, but not what I had in mind..especially having Indian food for lunch.. Tomorrow starts our 2 day dog Obedience show for the dog club I am in. I am the Chief Ring Steward , which is the person responsible for all the volunteers that work in the rings. This is an AKC sanctioned event.

Today's menu:

Post workout: Choc protein drink w/12 oz water
B- 1/2 c Cherrios w/1/3 c strawberries, 1/3 c skim milk
S- L/F yogurt
L- Ham on WW, bananna, skim milk
S- stringster and 5 L/F Triskets
D- Open chicken souvlaki ( sp?)
S- Slim a Bear or WW Choc ice cream bar

Sometimes the meal planning does not work so well as you can see from my menu yesterday. However, if you get it right 90% of the time it should be ok. I too had the same thing happen to me last spring when I had to buy size 14's to go to our annual Mexico trip x( This is when I started excercising regularly, but did not change my eating at all. The weight stayed the same, until I realized that I cannot eat the same amount of food that DH does and expect to lose weight! I agree with Garance that the meds have you gaining. Maybe your DR will let you slowly back off some?

Garance: WOW you are doing great with the weight on S&H.. my goal is to match Cathe's weight on this one. You do have a great schedule for classes... however, it seems like you put in a lot of time between for preparation. Your dinner sounded wonderful! You are so lucky to have your own meats and vegs to use. You know exactly what you are getting and so fresh!

Hi Deb and later posters--

This morning I did the 60 minute premix on Drill Max that does all of the drills and just the upper body weights, which are pretty light. I also modify quite a bit, and substitute drill 3 for drill 5, because I don't have enough room to do 5.

Will be heading off to class soon.

Breakfast: 2 eggs and 2 slices turkey bacon, o.j. with lots of pulp and coffee, black.

Lunch: 3 tomatoes with lots of salt and pepper, two boiled ham and swiss cheese rollups, diet pepsi

Dinner: chicken breasts in tomato sauce with three cheeses on penne and a big salad.

Hot again here.

Deb: I know you have hit it on the nose. Its my eating habits. I gotta stop eating the junk. I think after this weekend I'll try the menuplanning before bkft. I still need to download those promos you sent. I keep forgetting to pick up blank cds.
Garance:Sounds like a good workout. Meals sound good too.Have fun teaching today. Its suppose to be a pretty hot weekend so we will be leaving shortly to lake for the weekend.

spinach,bacon and cheese omelette
raisin toast
home fries(went out for lunch)
Chicken fetticine w/brocoli( went to Bugaboo restraurant
sl.honey wheat bread
3 cookies
I got the new Fitness magazine going to check out a challenge they are having.We'll see.~Linny~
 
Hi Deb, Garance and Linny,

I'm so glad it's Friday. Today is my rest day, and tomorrow I will be running 5 miles and Sunday 7 miles.

It has been a long week for me and can't wait to go home and make myself a Manhattan. Would anybody like to join me?
