Good Morning to all! Welcome to Drover aka: " Cathy with a C"

I am up early even though I have today off so I have not done my workout yet. I plan on doing a 40 minute I-Tread plus abs from something, maybe Abs of Steel.

Drover: Welcome to our thread! The sneakers I find comfortable are Nike Air Pegasus for treadmill work, jogging, etc. They have a wider toe box, which I need. I have Rika Enlight II's for all other excercise. I found that as I grew older my shoe size went up.. was buying the wrong size for a while and my feet hurt too! Went up a half size and things got better.

Linny: hopefully when you are on the way out of your job, things will improve. Glad you told HR what was happening so your boss does not get away with this. When you are out of the prednisone, you should try some benaydryl, maybe half a dose.

Garance: I'm with you on those push-ups. Good for you for doing them in any way possible! Sounds like you had a comedy of errors last night! Basil crop? I love pesto!

Melrose: I would really take it easy on that foot. Did you see a doctor? I think the book sale is a great idea and such a worthy cause. "Bright Lights, Big Ass"? Dying to know what that is all about !LOL

Josie: glad you liked your Cardio Coach.. The I-Trains have an outdoor one as well that you might find fun.

Rhonda: still cleaning? lol! Hope you feel better today and are able to workout. Sorry you find S&H boring.. did you ever do P90X? sort of the same style, but with Tony constantly joking around and talking. I would rather have Cathe in SH. Did you ever try breaking it up in a one part per day mode? That is why I pre-ordered the new series. I am looking forward to another heavy lifting series.

Is everyone checking the Blog every day? Once you start you get addicted! LOL!

For our new "members", can everyone say what they do ? I know we mention our jobs in past posts, but to catch everyone up.. I will start.

I am a Licensed Customs Broker and I work for the Customs clearance division of FedEx.

Have a great day

Deb

Still cleaning and sorting.

Did alot of work on curriculum development yesterday. I am a Special Education Teacher. I work in a high school setting in a school/community based program, with students who are moderately to severely developmentally delayed. They range in age from 14-21 but function at a pre-school to kindergarten level. I teach a fundamental life skills curriculum which prepares them to be as independent as possible in their adult lives. I have to develop materials that are age appropriate, within their intellectual abilities and teach skills outlined in the curriculum, which parallel the what general education students learn in high school, and that address the goals and objectives in their Individual Education Plans...quite a mouthful. At the same time I need to incorporate Picture Communication Symboling and assistive technology. That is how I am spending part of my Summer. Hopefully this will give me a running start in the Fall.

Am going downstairs to do SH Shoulders. Have not yet decided if I will do the leg section or some cardio with it.

Cooler here today. Supposed to be a nice weekend.

Drover: I left you a few suggestions on the Wednesday post.

My daughter is growing all types of basil in our planters. So far the deer have not eaten it.

By the way. I found a new way to make low fat brownies. I took a regular brownie mix. Instead of the eggs and oil, I used 1/2 cup of plain non-fat yogurt and the amount of water called for. I baked them in a 9 inch pan for about 30-35 minutes. There were really good and moist. They tasted like brownies and not applesauce, which is commonly used.

Take care,

Rhonda

Hi Deb, Rhonda, and later posters--

I did the all-cardio BM2 premix (62 min.), on a 6 inch step and with a lot of modifications to eliminate as much impact as possible. I worked up quite a sweat anyway.

Tomorrow is my day off, but I clean house all morning and feel like that is not bad exercise.

Yes, Deb, pesto is one of my favorites. Just the smell of basil can get my tastebuds going. My husband is the vegetable gardener, and we have been enjoying his greens since the spring. NOW, though, is when I go crazy, because I am seriously addicted to homegrown tomatoes and pesto, pesto, pesto!!!

I am an English professor at a small, elite liberal arts college, and off-and-on chair of the Women's and Gender Studies Program. I write scholarly articles and books during the summer. The regular school year is teaching intensive. My hobbies include sewing, knitting, and dance--both ballroom dancing with my husband (every January we sign up for lessons) and going to the ballet, modern dance, etc.

I'm going to check the blog now. I like the new tropical set they showed yesterday.

Hi Ladies: My doc's on vacation so his ARNP just upped my ativan and see what happens. I do have claritan at home I think I'll take a dose aday to try and keep the hives a bay.
Since everyone is stating their profession, Mine is not to be the Assistant Director of Nursing starting July 13th.
Who knows what lies in the future.
Today I did Lowmax and bi's from PUB. I'm suppose to go up to lake today, but I'm taking it as it comes since I am on call.
I took ballroom dancing lessions before I got married in 2000. That was so much fun, I'd like to start up again.~Linny~

Happy Friday, All,

Hee, Linny, I loved the way you stated your career title! Did you get a chance to speak to your boss yet?

I am a text and photo database archivist at a newspaper, the Houston Chronicle. It's stressful and one deadline after another, but I love the job. It's so interesting and never once has a day dragged by. Things I don't love about the job are the salary, working 1 out of 3 weekends and half the holidays every year.

The foot is still very swollen and red, but I can walk on it with a minimum of pain. It really hurts when I wear shoes. Today I did TLT, Strength in Movement, the one with Jen Carman. I did it barefoot with no problems.

I've read on the Video Fitness forum that several posters work out barefoot except for step workouts. I never did it before, thinking I needed the support of sneakers, but it sure felt good today.

The thunder is rumbling in the distance - here we go again. It's practically impossible to mow the yard when it rains every day. Soon the grass will be knee-high!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Jen
