3 days of soreness

I did GS: Chest and Triceps on Monday (for the first time). Just did the 30 min timesaver along with 30 mins cardio. I've just recently started getting back to working out seriously after being off for several months. I used 8 lb hand weights mostly and a 15 lb body bar. I have been so sore and today is the first day that my armpits (you know that area that usually hangs over the bra)aren't overly sore. Is this normal? I mean I've been sore before but usually after the next day it's gone. I didn't think I overdid it. I even made a point to watch myself and not do too much too soon. I was going to do the GS: Back and Biceps yesterday but I didn't want to hurt anything else. I hate that getting started feeling of always being sore after a workout.

I've had DOMS that lasted close to a week before! It usually happens when I do a tough weight workout after not having lifted weights for a while, which is exactly what you did. I wouldn't worry about it - if it is bothersome, you can take some Advil, or take an epsom salt bath, or get a massage (or all of the above!). Embrace the soreness - it's a good thing! :D

I did Pyramid Upper Body for the first time on Tuesday and I'm still feeling a bit sore in a few places. My worst DOMS is usually 2 days after the workout but when I do a new workout or do a particularly hard one (well, with more weights, I guess) I feel it longer than just 2 days.

You could always do GS Legs to give your upper body just a little more rest time. Also, a nice hot epsom salt bath does wonders for DOMS.

Kim, I did ME last Sunday, and my hamstrings were in shock. They just felt better today, FIVE DAYS LATER! Sounds like you did some good chest flyes. I had that pec soreness this week too from the chest flyes. Keep up the good work. I'm going to attempt ME again this weekend.

Oh, yeah, it's taken me almost 7 days to get over DOMS before. It's after a long hiatus and muscles that rarely get used day-to-day like triceps. And, I didn't use heavy weights, either.
