2nd month insanity workouts

has anyone done these yet? i'm only on my 3rd week but was thinking of jumping to the second batch of workouts b/c i'm getting bored with the 1st months group

I did Max Interval Circuit yesterday, and it was awesome! Around 60 minutes long. The stretch in this one was about 5 minutes (which I skipped until the end). I was getting a little tired of the month 1 disks also, so it was a great change. Tomorrow I think I'll try one of the other two new ones. There are some new exercises, and the fact that it's twice as long makes it noticeably harder. :)

I haven't tried them because the first month is still kicking my butt!
I just finished my 3rd go at Pure Hell, I mean cardio. :D I'm still taking a few breaks in that one.
I'm thinking about extending my first month another week. I'm skeered of max intervals and as long as the first month is producing results(burning fat), I'm OK;). And, I can't imagine adding time on to pure cardio!:eek::eek::eek:

ok, so i took the plunge and did max interval circuit. it was AWSOME! While it was super challenging it wasn't impossible. I really enjoyed it and the time flew by. By the last circuit i was dead. I didn't take breaks by stopping completely; i just slowed the movements down. I was scared going into it since it was a hour long but i survived:)

Is it basically like the other workouts but with one more circuit of intervals added on?

I'm starting week 3 and I think I'm still okay sticking with the same workouts. I've been adding on by doing the warm up again at the end. But I did that because I was out of town and couldn't do weights after. I'm planning to get back to doing 4DS this week. I'm really going to try to stick with the recommended rotation for this first time through and then I'll change it up.

I'm so glad that some people aren't rule followers (I follow recipes also) cause I love to hear what's coming. Thanks for posting!

So, I'm curious. Given that Insanity is so brutal, are all the workouts working only in the anaerobic range, and burning glycogen rather than fat?

even though you are burning glycogen from the intense anaerobic work, overall you are speeding up your metabolism which in turn burns more fat even when at rest. This is why anaerobic work gives you great results in such minimal time.

No, I understand that, I am asking if these workouts only work in the anaerobic zone. I prefer to work anaerobically, that's why I'm asking.

I'd say most of the workouts (other than one of the recovery week workouts) are anaerobic in nature. My heart rate never comes down much, even during the brief water breaks. But, there is enough of a recovery to make them do-able, even the longer ones. One thing I've changed is that I skip the long stretch (4-6 minutes) after the warmup and do it after the workout. I don't mind doing a few stretches after warming up, but the warmup ends at such a high intensity that I really don't want my heart rate to come down that much before I start the main workout.

i like the idea of putting the stretch after the workout. I may have to give it a try. thanks

1st month

How can people already get bored with 1st month workout. Wasn't the program JUST released?

I am waiting for someone to sell used copies on kijiji.ca so I don't have to pay custom fees for shipping it from the US.

i have exercise ADD so it only takes 2-3 weeks of one type of workout to start to get to me. LOL

so i wanted to keep you posted on the 2nd month workouts for those who want a little preview. I did max interval plyo this morning. Again it was 58 minutes long and divided into the first circuit served as a warmup, and then 3 circuits total. Each individual circuit was done 3 times through with a 30 sec rest between each one. I thought that the 1st circuit was the most taxing anaerobically. overall a very good workout.

HELP ANY ONE PLEASE !!!!

I have a question. is this worth while? I purchased the Insanity but I haven't even use them, I've been waiting on the costumer service about reviewing the phone call. I have been calling for a while 4th times:mad: today is the last one if they don't fix my problem I'm thinking about sending EVERYTHING back I wont keep anything, I 'm just going to wait for STS cardio.
So please any suggestions let me know what do you guys think about this program. Should I keep it or just return it?:(

Thanks Eunice:(

i think its worth keeping it. i find the workouts very challenging and very different from what i had been doing for years. though i do understand your frustration and probably would be thinking the same thing as you if i was in your situation. I say stick it out. I don't think you'll regret it.
