24 finale - thoughts?

>SOOOOO worth it! :)

Yowza!!

Thought the finale was good, but thought everything was wrapped up too nicely. Was waiting for some kind of twist. And what was up at the end with Jack looking down into the ocean????

Yeah, we were all like "what , Jack's contemplating suicide!, right!" Then they showed some previews for next season. I said "Well, they just showed Jack running with a gun and kissing some long-haired girl, so I guess he's alright".

I liked the season, but it seemed to lack something compared to the older ones. I definitely didn't like most of the new "crew" at ctu this year. Marnie

I just started watching 24 on DVD from the library. How many seasons are there? So far I love it!

I agree with all of you! For a moment at the end, I thought Jack was going to jump! And that moment when he walked out of the ocean in those wet jeans made my life complete. Seriously. I could die a happy woman now....
I also agree that it wrapped up WAY too nicely. Everything was solved and the world is safe. There was no cliff-hanger of an ending at all! What the heck?!!! It could have been the series finale with that ending--not just the season finale. I wish Kim would come back, to be honest. I know she's not popular with most viewers but I just liked the subplot with Jack and Kim--he gets to show his fatherly/emotional side. I was really happy with Jack's speech to Secretary Heller at the end. I am still reeling over how he told Jack that "he's cursed". Jack has done nothing but save the world for the past six years! I was glad Jack finally got to yell at Heller for that one.
The ending was just too peaceful for me. But what about Chloe?! Is it Morris' baby???!!!! They never said...

Wow, I am WAY too obsessed with this show....

I waited to see if they would show previews for next season but they didn't...our news came on...boo.

I was actually a little disappointed in the finale last night. I don't know exactly what would have made it better, but I felt kind of eh about it.

Hi Coleen,

There are 6 Seasons in total. I don' t watch much TV. I discovered 24 during Season 4. I did as you are doing and "caught up" with the show on DVD.

I do agree that this season was the weakest season of the series. I think the writers tried a little too hard to WOW us. It played too much like a soap opera this year.

I Tivo'd the finale so i'm getting off of this forum asap so I won't know anything.

I also started watching during Season 4 and had to "catch up" with the others on dvd. I thought this season was much better than last season, though. I was really interested the whole time. Last year I could have done without, though. Season four will probably always be my favorite though...

I *heart* Bill Buchanan.

But remember what happened to the last couple who resigned CTU (Tony and Michelle!!!) Lots of great shots of Jack ;-) But, yeah, it did wrap up like a present. Especially when Tom was rehashing everything for the VP...or was it for us? We have TiVo so I watched it twice and still liked it, but have a real hard time not making comments, snide or otherwise. Still thought that Jack was Josh's dad, and although I'm not wild about Audry i wanted her to wake up and say, "Jack", but what a jerk Heller is. OK, this is way too long :)

I *heart* Bill Buchanan too. He's oh so very dreamy...

I was SO waiting for Audrey to open her eyes and say Jack's name too. God, we're so pathetic....

I felt the same. There are a lot of loose ends, for sure.

I watched it last night. I was expecting more I guess. It was still very good but something about this season was amiss.

I could take or leave the Audrey character. To me, giving us the impression that she was killed in China and then finding that she was alive but needing to be rescued only served to give us another plot twist. An unneeded one IMO. This season had too much going on. And no human being after being shanghaied to China, beaten and tortured for 18 months (during which time has not uttered a word) who flies 17 hours to the U.S. to be killed but then gets away to stop a nuclear bomb (and that's just the first hour) could do all that Jack does in this 24 hour period. They never even so much as show Jack eating a sandwich or a bag of chips. No coffee or red bull. Nada.

I hope Mr. Bauer is really dead. It seemed intentionally open ended not to show him die. Will it turn out that he jumped from the platform at the last minute and swam to the chinese sub? Then he comes back next season to take revenge on Jack who then finds out that his nephew is actually his BROTHER (insert dramatic music here). In the end, it was all just a little too "General Hospital" ala 1980's for me.

I'm ragging it a little but to me, 24 is a great show. My favorite days were 4 and 3 (respectively) but I enjoyed them all. I even liked this season, just not as much.

I thought those were clips from earlier this season. I know at least some of them were.

What is "24 Day Zero"? Several people have mentioned this to me but they don't know what it's all about

When do these CTU people pee? ;-)

I think more like 'his nephew is actually his SON.'

I, too, was a little disappointed in the ending. Also, this season wasn't as exciting each week as it was in previous seasons (it didn't leave me hanging as much as before!). If you'll notice, they started this past season (episode one) pretty intense (a lot of violence, etc.), but I know the show caught a lot of flack from people complaining that it was TOO violent. I noticed after that, there wasn't a lot of violence each week. From reading past articles, I know that when a season starts, they aren't finished filming the entire season. Maybe the show was trying to "tone it down" a bit and in the meantime, made it less exciting.

Who knows! I know that Kiefer Sutherland has signed on for a few more seasons with Fox, so I'm sure we'll be watching him!

That was my first thought also. Then I started to think about how that would be too "spot on" for the 24 writers since they'd know that we'd think that, given he and his sister-in-law's history. Those 24 guys like adding strange twists to things. My husband still feels that Jake (or whatever his name was) is Jack's son. I guess we'll see next season. (Personally, I'm hoping this storyline will not return next season.)

"When do these CTU people pee? ;-)"

ABSOLUTELY. If the Chole character is pregnant, she'll spend half of her time at CTU in on the toilet next season.

I have been waiting for the crazy lady from Melrose Place to say "But Jack...he's your son...please save our son" since the extended family was introduced.

Am I the only one who saw Audrey's dad drive off a clif last season?? Every time I see him I say "But you died last season, you drove your car off a clif into a lake".

Ending was so-so...I did grow to love Ricky's character.

I'm guessing the baby will be Milo's since it was mentioned that he and Cloe shared a moment of weakness.

Buchanan's wife needs to get those veneers filed down a bit.

I love Jack. This is the only reason to watch this show. Then they brought in Ricky Schroeder, the only other reason to watch this show. The rest is just details.

Yea, Audry's dad drove off a cliff, but was able to get out of the car. I like Karen B, but she needed a "what not to wear" makeover. Her blazer was too long . Like I said I *love* this show, but also like to work it over. BTW, anyone go to www.televisionwithoutpity.com
? Funny recaps!
