Would it matter if I were to do AM GS Chest & Triceps and PM GS BS&Bi's? Or should I give it a rest day between workouts.

You could do both of these work outs on the same day. You wouldn't be doubling up on any body parts, as far as I can see. Any differing opinions, since I am certainly no expert....?

Hi. IMO that is perfectly fine. You are essentially doing a full body work out...a LONG and TOUGH one...but full body all the same. Now I definately would give all weight training a rest for atleast a full 24-48 hours after that kind of work out but I don't see why it wouldn't be okay to do....JMO!:)

I wouldn't do it the other way around. I think shoulders and then chest is just mean. }(

But those drop sets in the morning should be fine to follow with the rest of everything later. Just make sure you have eaten a good lunch!!! :p

You wouldn't necessarily be doing anything "wrong," but you probably wouldn't be doing your training any favors. Both of these tapes utilize heavy weights and lower reps (more strength than endurance style training) and as a result they are great for muscle gains. Depending on your goals you could adjust the workouts (using lighter weights and sometimes a faster rep speed) to make them more endurance based, and then doing them the same day would make more sense.
Since your muscles never work in isolation, but we can only concentrate on a particular muscle group all the muscles are being worked to some degree, as stabilizers, etc. before you ever get around to targeting that muscle in particular. Therefore, by the time you get to the last muscle it will be pretty pre-fatigued and as a result you won't be able to lift as heavy or with as good of form as you would have had you been working that body part "fresh" as it were.
And anyway, you really want to do more after all those push-ups?}(

I did the abbreviated version of this yesterday. I did the Time Saver version of GS BSB and the Superset version of GS C&T back to back. I'm feeling it today, but it feels good.

Actually back to back full versions of those two was in one of Cathe's rotations.

I wouldn't do them both on the same day, nor would I do them back-to-back, one day after the other, because the shoulders get hit two days in a row that way (once as synergists for the chest and triceps, and once on their own).

In fact, when I did a GS rotation, I did Chest/Triceps on "day 1," Legs on "day 3" and "Back/Shoulders/Biceps" on "day 5" to have enough recovery time for upper body for maximum benefits.

More is DEFINITELY not better with weight training if you are looking to build strength and muscle.

I think it depends on your goals and what works for you to get the results you want.

I far prefer to do total body weight training as opposed to one body part per day. BUT...my goals may be different from yours. I don't lift super heavy weights as my goal is not bigger/more muscle but to maintain and stay fit. I have a very difficult time with the S&H set as it moves waaay too slow for me. I do more reps while Cathe and crew are resting. But I'm also not using 40 pounds on squats either. :p

I did it that way-all in one day.I also did p90x this way.I think I did a 4 week rotaion doing this every other day.I saw stregth gains while doing this.Of course I am a odd ball who sees the best results by working muscle groups 3-4 times a week alt. super heavy with endurance workouts.I wouldn't do it for a long time as I was nearing the end of the rotation I started to burn out esp with p90x.
