2 questions re: forum

1. Just wondering why posts are "dated" 5 hours ahead? What time zone is this? (I'm on the east coast as I think Cathe is)

2. What makes someone a Charter Member?

Always wondered, just thought I'd ask.

1. You can change your time zone in your profile.

2. I think it just means those are the folks who were on the boards when they originated.

Darla, if you got to the "TOP" from any forum page, then to "User Menu" it's under " Edit preferences" you can change your timezone.

I guess the default is Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), if you live in the UK you can leave it alone.

1. Yep, Dave is right. However I didn't know I can change it to my time zone. I will do it soon.

2. I've been a member for a long time. I was a lurker and a Cathe addict since the 90s and became a member maybe in 2000-early 2001. Then they changed the format of the forums and I was a "charter member". I guess that if someone was a member before they changed the format of the forums they're "charter" members.

It's weird that the default time is for the UK! You'd think it would be EST.

The explanation about "charter" makes sense!
