I am going to get the vaccine book, but for obvious reasons i havent had a chance. Which vaccines are they reccommending at the 2 mos visit?? Does anyone know? Or better yet what vaccines did you give your children at the 2 mos visit?

In both of his schedules--selective and alternative, Dr. Sears recommends only the DTaP and Rotavirus vaccines at the two month visit. This means delaying until month 3 the Pc and HIB vaccine. Also, the polio vaccine is not given until one year. The standard recommendation at the 2 month visit is DTaP, Rotavirus, Pc, HIB and polio.

Sears also describes each vaccine and manufacturer and gives you a choice among several. It's really worth looking at, especially with the DTaP shot. For example, one manufacturer loads the shot with aluminum. You might want to avoid that and go with a different manufacturer.

Melissa,

I just saw this...looks like you have some good answers from Manmohini. I'll have to be more on top of this stuff, it's scary that I let my daughter have all of them at once. We skipped Hep B in the hospital b/c she was so small and during my pregnancy I interviewed pediatricians specifically asking about shots and expressed my concerns about them. I think that b/c she was so tiny still and b/c it was cold and flu season made us both more inclined to "protect" her by getting them. Ignorance!
