1969 vw beetle question

I am trying to figure out where to put oil in this baby. Its engine is sooo tiny and compact (just bought it recently) and it needs oil.

I have looked up websites but none seem to say anything. Calling a mechanic is no good because they don't pick up the phone.

There is a 'thing' in there that reads 'oel' but I don't know if that is for oil or not.

Anyone own a classic beetle and knows? Or knows of a website on this car with a bulliten board?

Thanks in advance.

Does any of this help?

My first car was a 1964 VW bug - I paid $800.00 for it in 1968! What a cool car! My son's first car in 1989 (he paid cash for it himself with his own $$) was a 1973 Super Beetle! The car was as old as he was at the time!

Aren't they great? My favorite car of all time! I would love to collect all the colors!!!
By the way, I paid 4gs for mine. It had five owners before me and the last owner bought it six mos earlier for 6gs. He sold it because he got another classic car and money reasons. He knew a family member which is why he sold it for less than he paid.

The car is in great condition but it is very hard to figure out where everything goes. It took me ages just to find the battery under the back seat.

Anyway thanks so much for that webpage...I already posted my question there.

My dad had one of the first VW's in the Akron, OH area, and we took it out west on vacation in about 1956. It had no gas gauge!

I bet you are thinking 'what that car could be worth today!

I mean, I see beetles that dont run and have been left to die out in the front lawn all full of rust sell for several g's. Everyone loves those little bugs but to have had one from the fifties is like almost legand!

I think they gained pop. in the sixties and will always be associated with that era.
