Its still week 1?}( Just joking!!!

I just read through yesterdays post and we still have newbies coming! Hopefully we will all stick it out till the end! Just think that there are others going through the same process and that should make it easier.

I am just getting off of work and I don't think I am going to bed.I have to work in the morning so I will just get a really good nights sleep tonight.I wanted to get my workout in now but I have to wait for DD to wake up so I can get her situated and then workout.

I will check back later!
Lori:)

Hi, Lori. I sure hope you get some rest tonight! Geesh...the job of being a mom never ends, but add a job on top of that and look what you get! LOL. Stay strong.

What you said about thinking that there are others going thru the same process IS TRUE! That thought exactly is what got me thru a few sections of my workout this morning! LOL Especially the push ups and hover squats THAT HURT! LOL

I got up this morning and did HSTA. Good and sweaty! I'm following the Get Ready For Summer rotation and LOVE IT! I'm also getting psyched for my half marathon next weekend.

I'm still putting together my list of my 'official' goals and I will post them over on the official thread this weekend.

Have a great Saturday. I'll check back later to see how everybody's doing!!!!!!!

Gayle

Hi Gayle - what 1/2 marathon are you running next weekend? GOOD LUCK! I'm still trying to find one that I can get the training in and it will be a fun one around here, but so far not much luck.

How is WW going for you? Good I hope. So far I've been doing quite well, but this weekend we are out of town so my challenge is going to be there for sure. I am bringing good snacks, though, so I'm on top of it. :7

I am actually looking forward to weigh-in on Tuesday, go figure!

Have a great weekend everyone
Marcia.

Hi, Marcia!

My half next weekend is The Runner's World half in Allentown PA. The course actually runs thru the Parkway where me and my teammates did ALL of our long trianing runs for the Disney marathon. I am SO PUMPED UP!!!!!!!!! I am ready!

As for WW, it's going very well and I've had SO MUCH success following the program. I think you mentioned checking out BFL, right? BFL is a LOT like the WW Core program, except you don't count. It would be VERY easy to do WW Core AND BFL at the same time. If you'd like, I could loan you the book I have. Or you could check it out from your local library. Let me know.

Have a nice weekend and stay OP!!!!

Gayle

Oh my gosh, Gayle, that would be great I'd love to borrow your book to see if it's something I would incorporate with WW. I have had good success with points and with core, but always fell off the wagon and couldn't get back on until now. Which one do you do? Core or Flex? I like the Core because it's all the "good" foods, but it's not as easy as Flex because of all the 100 calorie packs they have out now I tend to grap those for quick snacks. I'm sure if I planned correctly I would get things that are core, but for now I'm using Flex.

OK - I found a 1/2 marathon that I'm seriously thinking about doing. It isn't until the first week in August, but I'm going to start my training on Monday along with the schedule that I printed out from Hal Higdon's website. So, when you were training how did you incorporate WW? Did you just figure out the activity points and add those in or did you eat more core? Just curious - anything you did or changed while training? I'd be so curious to get any advice you may have.

Thanks again........
~Marcia~

Ok, ladies I'm off and out the door this morning. It's a rest day for me with eye doctor's apts. to go to and grandparents to see. I got down some water with breakfast this morning which was a sweet potato pancake with a small banana and a tsp of sugar free honey.

It's Sat so that is usually an evil eating day for me. So good luck to all of us. Karen

Hi everyone....Nice to meet you!

Lori - Hope you get some rest in!

Gayle - Good luck with your marathon!

Marcia - Is everyone weighing in on Tuesdays?

Karen - Enjoy your visit

Ok, my official start day is today, everything good so far - today is a yoga only rest day as I usually start my week off on Sunday or Monday. I will post my plan later....I am having difficulty deciding what to do - I can do a month of muscle building, a month of endurance then a month of fat burning focus -- but I really cannot decide if I am going to do that or just go with it!!!

Will post later - I guess we have a new thread every day and when does the week officially begin for everyone?

Hi, ladies.

Marcia-I do Flex. I like the ability and the freedom it offers, yet structure at the same time. I have been considering switching to Core, but if it's not broke, don't fix it, right???

Good for you for committing to the half marathon. What I did is exactly what you said...I figured activity points and added those in. I ATE THEM TOO! You will need them. I TRIED to use the extra APs from those longer runs for good stuff that will help my body recover, like lean proteins (chicken, fish, etc) or for salads and stuff. BUT...I did indulge now and then.

Training....STRETCH before and after each and every run....during the run if you need to! I cross trained using Cathe workouts and the majority of my cardio was the running. I also suggest NOT giving up on the lower body weight workouts. Keep them in...as it will strengthen your legs and keep your legs healthy.

GOOD LUCK! I really look forward to hearing how your training goes. I'm still in the market for my next marathon.

If you send me your mailing address, I'll get the book out to you Monday morning. My email address is [email protected].

Gayle

Hi, Kathy. I don't know about everybody else, but I usually weigh in on Fridays. My new weeks begin on Monday.

Enjoy your yoga.

Gayle

What a chatty bunch!!!:) :)

I struggled through a 5 mile run.Actually the last mile was what I struggled through.I just felt so tired all of a sudden, but I just finished MM so I am done for the day.I think I may take a bath and get a little nap in.It won't be to long though cause I have to pick DD up from swimming in an hour.

Kathy, my week started on Thursday.Im not sure when I will weigh again, probably Thurs again.

Lori:)

Hello Ladies:

This morning was roller blading with DD. She was home from college for the weekend. It was great to spend some time with her. She doesn't live that far away but we rarely get to spend time together.

Lori: you ran 5 miles and did MM on the same day? Wow, I'm going to have to step it up a notch or 2 or 3 or 4 to keep up or should I say catch up with this group.

I was wondering if after a week or two, once we know who is going to be doing the challenge, if we do an introduction day and tell a little about ourselves. Anyone interested?

Strong Healthy Eating Vibes being sent out to all for the weekend. It's my worst time for eating.

Jean

p.s. I also prefer to weigh on Fridays, but I think everyone can keep whatever day they normally weigh, until the end, which I think was mentioned earlier as being Friday July 14.

Today I did Step Heat. I've been using Cathe's workouts for about 3 years now (wish I could say consistently! ;-) ) but I was always intimidated by her step workouts but I'm trying to conquer that. Step Heat is a good confidence gainer. I finished up with CTX triceps.

I did really well on my eating, and decent on my water consumption.

Tomorrow I might do some pilates or yoga for my rest day.

Heidi

Hi gals.

Well I went a few extra days beyond my normal 6 of working out to finish up week 1 of my rotation on the right day today. It was High Step Challenge for me today. What a great work out! It's the first time I've done it!:) Tomorrow is a much needed rest day.

I ate okay today...dinner wasn't perfect but I wasn't home for it so that can make it more difficult. The rest of the day was fine though so I'm not worried. I'm having a cup of coffee right now but after it's gone I need to guzzle up some water as I didn't have much today.

12-Week Check-in

I maintained my weight this week, and I am delighted because my cycle started today. It is excellent for me to get through the week before my cycle without gaining weight. And my cycle surprised me again this month by arriving a few days early without sounding the PMS warning alarm. No cramps. No moodiness. No tears. Working out once a day with a rest day every week is blessing my body.

I did Rhythmic Step this morning followed by the abs and planks from Power Hour. I went to a friend’s home this morning and had her take pictures of me for this challenge. I wore black workout shorts and a black Nike tank top. Oh my. I have my work cut out for me! I took one look at the side views and decided that I need Butts and Guts now! My butt is huge, and I look pregnant. The pictures of me with my friends at the zoo earlier this month were on the same roll of film. I looked really pretty that day. At least I am looking better in jeans now. Workout clothes are another story.

Summary for Easter to 4th of July Challenge Week 1:

04-16-06 Cardio and Weights/Total Body Stretching 2
04-17-06 Cardio Kicks + Ab Hits (CTX Kickbox)/Total Body Stretching 2
04-18-06 Leaner Legs + cardio gliding (homemade circuit)/Total Body Stretching 2
04-19-06 IMAX2/Total Body Stretching 2
04-20-06 Boot Camp/Total Body Stretching 2
04-21-06 rest/rest
04-22-06 Rhythmic Step + Ab Hits (Power Hour)/Total Body Stretching 2

Week 2 starts for me tomorrow with Cardio and Weights again.

Blessings,
Heather B.

RE: 12-Week Check-in

I think last weeks workouts look great. As for the pics I took mine yesterday and thought the same thing. Man I hate to take my picture but it will all be worth it in the end.

Good job on maintaining your weight. Now when you done your cycle you should be able to see the drop on the scale. Karen
