1 year anniversary ideas

I'd like to do or get something special for my SO without spending too much money. I just can't think of anything he really needs or anything creative. I could get a boxed DVD set for him but would prefer to do that for XMas. I know we will be going out to dinner. Any ideas?

SO stands for Significant Other. It's not stupid, it took me a while to figure out all the abbreviations too.

Hmmmm....
A nice Swiss Army knife. Less than $40. Every time he uses it, he thinks of you. I still have the one Mom gave me 25 years ago, unless I'm flying it's always in my pocket.

Having a few of us Y chromo types around isn't a bad thing.

The best anniversary gift my DH ever gave me didn't cost that much -- he sent me on a treasure hunt. It started with an ad in the newspaper telling me to go to the mailbox. He made sure I saw the ad and then ran out of the house, all dressed up. In the mailbox was a card telling me to get dressed (he had left out an outfit) and go to an address, which turned out to be a florist. From there, another card told me to go to another address, which turned out to be a lingerie store. And from there, I got a note telling me to meet him at a house, where he was cooking me dinner. Lots of time and effort on his part, but not a lot of money. And 8 years later, I still remember that as the best anniversary ever.

Why not wrap yourself up in a sexy little number and greet him at the door, champagne in hand? Sounds cliche, or something from a movie, but hey, this kind of stuff really works, he will adore you for it!:D

When DH and I were celebrating our first year together, we were still very poor. I made my DH a cassette tape (old school!) with all of his favorite tunes on it. I also drew him a bubble bath after a nice long massage. Don't know if these are options for you, but there you go!

Good luck and congrats!

Dave,

You are a riot! Just in case you were wondering there are some of us out here that prefer the male perspective sometimes! :)

Thanks for all the suggestions! Love yours too Dave. Would be afraid he might decide to use it on me one day though...haha.

I finally thought of a great idea since we've never been able to take a vacation together yet and he's been working so much and his body hurts that I scheduled for us to get massages together and that is our gift to each other. Something fun and enjoyable for us to do together.

I took my husband to Philadelphia for a weekend on his birthday and we had a blast maybe you can book a hotel room for a night just for a change of scenery :)

My first thought was a hot air balloon ride but then I realized you were trying not to spend too much. The couples massage sounds like a great idea. Enjoy & happy anniversary!
