I was watching my best pal Suze Orman tonite and a lady called in asking if she should transfer a balance to a 0% interest credit card. (DUH!). Suze said yes, of course, but I was suprised that she did not discuss what the interest rate would default to after the "introductory period". I do get offers for 2-3% interest on balance transfers FOR LIFE, but that is as good as it gets for me! I also get the 0% hoopla, but it comes with conditions.
My question is, are there credit cards out there that will transfer your whole balance at 0% interest FOR LIFE WITHOUT CONDITIONS..and yeah, you know the kinds of "conditions" I am talkin' about.
Discover has a great little scam going....transfer at 0% for the life of the balance* (there's the asterick!) at the bottom it tells you that your interest rate will remain at 0% as long as you make two purchases a month after year 1!! So really, that is like saying it is an introductory rate. Worse yet, cuz then they slap on that higher interest rate and all the things you charged after the year go to the "back of the bus".
Really, since I have come to understand credit cards and credit card companies (EVIL!), it is really interesting to see how enticing they make some of their scams. You really gotta read the fine lines!
Anyone know the answer to my question. Seems like you'd have to have a credit (FICO) score of over 800 to get that deal....???
