    Speaking of rest...I think I'm injured :(

I agree with Robin call your dr in am. Another alternative to the ER is a walk-in clinic. That should be cheaper than an ER visit. Do you have any of those around where you live? Diana

    >Hi Diana, > >Your reply is not too late. I plan on putting in my order in >the next day or so. Thanks. >Now, when you mention Cathe step, do you mean her Basic Step + >Body Fusion DVD? and also, which DVD do you mean is the >beginner weight workout? My apologies for more silly...

    Where to begin?

I am also new to Cathe and started with her beginner dvd's. I consider myself an intermediate exerciser but haven't been able to do step aerobics for many years due to an ankle injury. I was able to do the firm however. I personally found Cathe step challenging but the beginner weight workout...

So do you REALLY know when it's time?

Laura, I'm sorry you're going through this it's hard. We lost two older dogs this past year. Mandy was 16 and had been showing signs of aging for a while but was doing relatively ok till last fall. She did go downhill fast after she became incontinent though so Cosmo's time may be soon...

Which HRM works okay next to TV?

I have the Polar F11 which I like and I don't have trouble with the TV interfering. I'm not that close to our TV's though when I work out. I posted this in another thread but I'm speculating that monitors with cross talk feature (ie prevents monitor from picking up other heart rate monitor...

another q on heart rate monitors

I have the Polar F11 and I love it. The chest strap is not a problem it's comfortable and when I was researching it seemed the strapless ones don't work as well. That made sense to me as the grips on cardio machines don't always pick up as well as my monitor does. I don't have problems with it...

my 11 yr old got her period....help!!!!

My daughter wanted the tampons pretty early too although she was around 13 or so. What I did was get her the Tampax teen pack to start with. It comes with good directions and has a really slender size included in the box. Now at 16 she prefers pads unless she has PE. Diana

    Question for teachers (long)

I agree with the recommendations for a face to face followup vs email. One thing I was wondering though is it possible that the teacher is basing some of her comments based on the other twin's abilities? It may be completely unintentional on her part but if the teacher knows both kids it would...

    What's up with flu shots?

I say: if you get sick, work through it, develop more >immunity and take it as a warning from your body that you >weren't looking after it as you should. Then, leave the >vaccine for the pregnant, elderly or those working in >professions where exposre to germs is extraordinarily high and...

    What's up with flu shots?

Part of the problem is there's many milder bugs out there people call the flu which aren't the flu meaning influenza. Last year was the first year my daughter didn't get a flu shot and sure enough she got it. This was verified by testing. She was started on Tamiflu right away but still missed...

    Help..teens and exercise?

I just wanted to second the DDR (Dance Dance Revoluttion) suggestion. It's my daughter's primary form of cardio. She's 16, not interested in sports and athletics and like some have said before finds videos or aerobics classes corny. She doesn't like machines like TM, elliptical etc and hated...
