(Please don't flame me) Question on the health ins

I think that you are misusing the word bribe. Bribe implies that someone is gaining something personally. To negotiate something good for your state or district is not really a bribe. BTW, I'm not defending Nelson or Stupak but I'm just saying I don't think bribe is the right word. Yeah...

(Please don't flame me) Question on the health ins

Seriously, I'm shocked that there is gambling (I mean dealmaking) going on in politics. I really can't believe that. Do you think this has happened before? Just shocking. (I'm being sarcastic, BTW). Bottom line the deals are out.

(Please don't flame me) Question on the health ins

I brought up the war in response to someone's complaint about spending. Just wondering why the same critics did not complain about the massive deficit spending for 8 years of Bush. The CBO estimates say it will reduce the deficit. I'm not an expert but they are.

(Please don't flame me) Question on the health ins

Cornhusker Kickback and Gator Aid are out of the bill. The Lousiana deal has to do fixing Medicaid funding because when so much money was pumped into Lousiana after Katrina it appeared (on paper) that incomes went up 40% so Medicaid funding was cut. There are still alot of people in Lousiana...

(Please don't flame me) Question on the health ins

You know I keep hearing these vague accusations bribing and threats to pass healthcare but I really haven't seen any real detail or evidence. Care to elaborate? How will it cost jobs? Don't you think that more healthcare workers will need to be hired to care for the newly insured? As for...

Seriously $400 Lego set for an 8 year old?

It does seem kind of pricey but I like the fact that it is a creative toy offering hours of enjoyment. I'd rather have that for my kid then an expensive video game which I think is not so creative. I don't have young children so I may be wrong about video games but I just feel that kids spend...

(Please don't flame me) Question on the health ins

Well if you think no socialism is ok then I hope you don't drive on public roads, attend or send you kis to publical schools, call the police or fire dept. when you need help, get student loans, etc. We have been for some time a mixed economy, part private owned and part government owned.

(Please don't flame me) Question on the health ins

As the OP stated, there is going to be an individual mandate, so most people will either be covered by their employer (as they are now) or will buy insurance. The govt. will help out with subsidies for those who can't afford to buy insurance. There will not be 40 million people added to a...

(Please don't flame me) Question on the health ins

Actually, the HCR bill gives rather substantial tax credits to small business who provide health insurance to their employees. That is one of the benefits that goes into effect right away.

(Please don't flame me) Question on the health ins

Precisely why a public option is a good idea but, unfortunately, that idea was demonized to the point where is was not longer politically viable.

(Please don't flame me) Question on the health ins

Most people are happy with their plan because employers bear most of the cost as my employer does. Without reforms this will be unsustainable. How do you figure that the bill was ramroded through when it was voted on by both chambers of Congress? Isn't that how the American system of...

(Please don't flame me) Question on the health ins

How will this bill force you to pay for your friend's health insurance? The OP started this out by talking about an individual mandate. Won't the new bill require your friend to buy a policy?

(Please don't flame me) Question on the health ins

For anyone who thinks that lack of health care insurance only effects them, I would ask this question. If someone is injured, has to go to the ER and has no health insurance or money to pay, who should pay?

    Fabby Tummy

I'm 46 and also have a flabby tummy issue. This last week I decided to do core work every day and see if that helped. Believe it or not I am seeing a difference already. I do about 10 minutes every day. Sometimes a Cathe workout and sometimes an Ab Ripper type workout (p90X). I'm going to...

    changes in body rhythms

The time change for this daylight saving time has really thrown me for a loop. I can't get up before 6:30 now matter what. Luckily, when I get home DH has dinner cooked so I can get in a workout before we eat otherwise I'd never get it done.

    Tony Horton 10 Minute Trainer

I had them but I gave them to my daughter. They were way too easy for me and I didn't really feel like I got a good workout. BTW, I'm in good shape but I don't consider myself superfit.
