Celebrate your Workout Improvements

Share the progress you have made with your workouts.

I did GS Chest & Triceps yesterday and actually did all of the pushups on my toes! I did rest a little longer between some of the drop sets, so I'm still working on doing it "with" Cathe--always improvements to be made, right?

Oooohhhh I like this thread already! Thanks for starting it Elise!

I've been working out with Cathe regularly since October 2010 and I recently completed my first round of STS. The following are some of my favorite "successes" from the past year:

(1). In every post-STS full body or circuit workout I am lifting heavier (though only slightly on some exercises).

(2). Pre-STS I could only do 4-5 push-ups on my toes at once and now i'm up to 16-20 without stopping (THRILLED).

(3). I've always struggled tremendously with abs. Since March 2010, I've been incorporating abs 3-5 times per week (thanks Wendy for the suggestions ;) ). Though I still find many of Cathe's abdominal workouts extremely challenging, i'm also finding I can actually complete most of the routines with minimal rests/breaks (I used to incorporate "vacations" during Cathe's abdominal routines  ).

(4). Since I started working out regularly with Cathe, my cardio endurance has improved dramatically. 9-10 months ago, I was struggling to complete Imax 2 and the thought of even attempting Imax 3 made me nauseated. Now, Imax 2 is just fun fun fun (even though i'm still sucking wind at various points) and Imax 3, while still very challenging, no longer sidelines me (i.e. I can complete it without extra breaks and/or fainting :p ).

I can't wait to celebrate other successes. Let's hear 'em ladies! :)

Congratulations Katie--those are some major accomplishments!

These may seem insignificant to some but I consider them accompolishments and am quite proud: :D

  • Pushups on my toes! I never thought I would ever be able to do more than a few on my toes. The most ever was 56! My husband is also proud of this accompolishment of mine!
  • Conquering Step Aerobics! There once was a time when I thought step aerobics was only for the dance trained coordinated type. I can do almost all step routines now with little to no "just standing there staring" moments. Still working on conquering 4DS but I'll get there.
  • Actually enjoying working out! I once was under the impression you had to work out even though it was torture. Cathe showed me how to get excited about working out to a variety of activities.
  • Lifting heavy! Ok, I realize this is a relative term and heavy to me may be light to others but I never thought women were supposed to own dumbbells bigger than 12 pounds. I now have dumbbells up to 50 pounds and 3 barbells with over 200 pounds of plates to play with!
