GOOD MORNING!!!!!


I hope you all don't mind I put the bar mitzvah in the title of our thread:eek: I am so excited for my son!!!! He is has worked so hard for this day, well actually the bar mitzvah is tomorrow, tonight he just does a little something at services, but I won't be able to "gush" tomorrow and I will probably only post quickly if at all.....very busy today, rehearsal, family coming in from the airport and pictures, dinner and services, but wanted to keep you all up to date:):) I will try and post pictures sunday or monday:):)

Melissa::: Read my last post yesterday about etk. Great program, you will gain strengh and definition!

MARCY!!!! Missed ya! glad you are back:) Sorry about the flood in your basement, but yes, glad you didn't need a whole new water heater!!! Yea for 2 pounds lost!!

Deanie, from gushing mom to another: :D:D:D:D:D:D:D I know how you feel! And I don't mean to sound like a total idiot here, but when you get the chance could you explain to me what a bar mitzvah is? I know that bar mitzvah is for boys and bat mitzvah is for girls, but past that and Channakah my education on Jewish traditions ends. :eek::eek::eek: Is it a coming of age celebration? I'm sorry if that sounds really ignorant.
I did see the ETK post! I am kicking myself because I got a ton of coupons during the dog days sale AOS had and about every other one was ETK for half off. I wish I would have gotten it, and I even wanted to get it because I knew I would get it someday. :confused: grrr! I think that I will do that since I really enjoyed doing SIM and actually kept up with it for... how long was it... six weeks? A record for me. ;)

I don't think I am going to do P90X after reading everyone's posts. I know that doing that intense of a workout for that long of a time will really deplete my energy rather than rev me up and I will be miserable and miserable to be around. I remember working out like that after I had DS and I was tired and mean a lot... I looked really good, but I wasn't happy nor was I pleasant to be around. I also kinda get the feeling that I wouldn't feel, even after that work, that my workout was complete since you only work a couple of body parts at a time. Kettlebells have ruined me for most traditional ex. I think. Thank you so much for all of your input, guys! :D

I am not really sure what I am going to do today. I had it all planned yesterday, but I woke up this morning at 3:15 and didn't ever fall back asleep so I am not sure that I will be able to get anything in. I will tell you what I did have planned though:

Go from 10-1 reps in this sequence with

  1. Walking lunges
  2. One arm rows
  3. One arm cleans
  4. One arm jerks
It took me about 30 minutes for me to finish this post because DH kept interupting to show me al lof the neat things he installed last night. :p

Deanie - Big congrats to DS and you! You must be very proud. I've heard how much work goes into preparing for this day.

Mega ^^^5's on the 16kg kettlebell snatch!!! That's like a whole other level of strong....seriously! Have a GREAT weekend, you deserve it. :)

Melissa - Are you still looking for another rotation? I like what you did have planned today, I hope you get it in. I found the Man Maker/run WOD on the CrossFit forums a while back. I know it came from some affiliate site, but don't know which one...I think it was originally supposed to be 5 rounds.

Marcy - Bummer about your basement flood. Glad your water heater was spared. WTG on still getting all those workouts in! I'm another who does NOT like Kundalini. I took a yoga class a few years ago and the instructor showed us Kundalini for a few days...I felt most of the time like I was going to hyperventilate...not my thing either.

Jane - How did Barbara go? Hope your DOMs are better.

My back squats were pretty "meh" last night. They just didn't feel great. The WOD was cool though. I used 20# dumbbells and finished in 16:55. This WOD definitely has a pukeworthy factor to it. My top speed on the treadmill was 5.7 mph (STOP LAUGHING!).

I'm going hiking with some friends this afternoon, so that'll be my workout.

Good Afternoon!

I had a bad night's sleep last night (only 4 hours) so there wasn't time for much. I did a total of 5 pullups and 6 chinups. I also did yoga abs from STS Ab Circuits that's I got on a temporary trade. I was disappointed. I had cancelled STS and then later cancelled Ab Circuits but kind of regretted it. It wasn't that challenging for me at all except for the straight leg levitation holds. I kind of did 1 for a second and did all the lotus levitation holds. In case anyone's interested, here's a breakdown:

C-Curve roll
Boat
Roll and come up with one leg bent and the other straight
Levitation holds in lotus; from lotus go into straight leg levitation holds
Reverse plank
Crunch, turn side, center and down; repeat other side.
Slow Bicycle
Supine Twists
Pendulum
Cat/Cow
Prone plank into side plank; high & under pushup (2x), back to plank; high & under pushup (2x), crocodile pushup, up dog; down dog (3 sets)
Child's pose
Sitting cross-legged, twist to each side

I'm going to try and do either the Pilates or Weights & Plates next.

I don't have a basement. Our laundry area is on our main floor so I'm glad it didn't get any further and ruin our floors.

Deanie - Hope your DS has a wonderful bar mitzvah! Mazel Tov! Congratulations on your snatches! You seem to keep improving by leaps and bounds.:D No more wristbands? Amazing!

Gayle - Have a nice hike tomorrow! It will make up for the treadmill.:D I'm sure my top speed isn't any better.

Melissa - I wouldn't be surprised if Anthony soon has another sale for ETK. Are you sure you're ready for a three month rotation?

I'm checking in late today. I was at my parent's house all day. I didn't do Barbara last night. I got home too late and I was too tired. I will save it for another day.

I did this workout tonight. It was a beautiful night but temps are still in the 80's,
